Carlyle seeks to hire a Managing Director-level Credit Portfolio Strategist within our Global Credit business. The Portfolio Strategist will serve as a key client-facing role for Carlyle’s $203 billion Global Credit business, responsible for engaging with clients across strategies, primarily direct lending, opportunistic credit, asset-backed finance and cross-platform multi-strategy offerings. The Portfolio Strategist will actively engage in client meetings and speak on industry panels, representing the firm’s Credit views and capabilities, and will help generate thought leadership content. The Strategist will be deeply integrated into Carlyle’s Credit business to best deliver messaging to investors across our platform.
Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
- Subject matter expert on credit markets and across credit strategies, responsible for representing Carlyle’s Credit business in a variety of client-facing forums
- Engagement with broad range of investors, with a focus on wealth investor channel
- Serve as a communication bridge between Credit investment teams and sales team, wealth platforms and clients
- Prepare and deliver tailored presentations for 1:1 client meetings, industry panels and conferences with a focus on private credit strategies
- Develop and maintain deep product expertise, primarily focused on private credit wealth offerings, specifically Carlyle Tactical Private Credit Fund (CTAC), Carlyle Credit Solutions (CARS), Carlyle European Tactical Private Credit ELTIF (ETAC) and additional vehicles that may be launched across the platform, with peripheral efforts supporting Carlyle’s institutional Credit offerings
- Support and collaborate with investment teams to present content to investors, translated to be relevant for various investor bases
- Significant travel required, primarily in the U.S., to attend client meetings and various industry conferences

Education & Certificates
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Series 7 and 63
Professional Experience
· 10+ years of relevant experience, preferably within a credit product specialist role or credit investment role
- Credit asset class experience preferred, private credit a plus
- Experience working with wealth / retail investor channel preferred
Competencies & Attributes
- Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal; role requires interaction with most senior professionals at the firm and key external stakeholders
- Experience working with institutional and wealth clients
- Proven track record of participating and presenting in large conference or panel formats
- Strong collaborative skills to act as a liaison between investment team, sales and leadership
- Deep knowledge of private credit strategies, including direct lending, opportunistic credit and asset backed finance
Travel
- Ability to travel extensively to support client engagement and business development
Benefits/Compensation
The compensation range for this role is specific to New York City and takes into account a wide range of factors including but not limited to the skill sets required/preferred; prior experience and training; licenses and/or certifications.
The anticipated base salary range for this role is $300,000.

Additionally, the hired professional may also be eligible to participate in an annual discretionary incentive program, the award of which will be dependent on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
