Position Summary
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and monitor investment opportunities sourced from the broader Carlyle platform (e.g., direct opportunities, balance sheet investments, secondary stakes) for inclusion in the evergreen portfolio.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across GPE, CEP, CTEP, CAP, and CJP, and with the Carlyle research team, to align portfolio construction with broader macroeconomic and investment theses.
- Drive marketing efforts for CPEP across the US and Internationally as Carlyle scales the strategy.
- Serve as a thought leader in external and internal forums, supporting capital raising, strategic planning, and investor education initiatives.
- Provide oversight of the fund-level financial model for CPEP, including sensitivities, scenario analysis, and long-term capital planning.
- Monitor competitor products (e.g., BXPE, KKR Prime, Apollo AAA) and incorporate insights into platform development and strategic positioning.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required, ideally in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Advanced certifications such as an MBA, CFA, or CAIA are strongly preferred.
- 6–10 years of relevant experience in private equity, investment banking, or related alternative investment fields.
- Demonstrated experience executing complex private equity transactions and leading cross-functional deal teams.
- Familiarity with evergreen vehicles or long-duration capital strategies is a strong plus.
- Deep technical expertise in financial modeling, valuation analysis, capital structuring, and performance tracking.
- Strategic thinker with a sophisticated understanding of private equity fund mechanics and portfolio construction.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate investment theses and strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- High proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, Preqin, Capital IQ, FactSet); experience with SQL, Python, or VBA is a plus.
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple concurrent workstreams and deliver under tight deadlines.
- Entrepreneurial, self-motivated, and comfortable operating in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.
- Proven team leader and mentor; able to develop junior talent and foster a high-performance culture.
