Position Summary
Fund or Department Description
Since 2018, CIM Europe has been Carlyle’s licensed Alternative Investment Fund Manager (AIFM) in Luxembourg, providing investment management functions including risk management, valuation, compliance, oversight on portfolio management and marketing and related activities to its alternative investment funds and allowing Carlyle funds to continue to market to European investors under AIFMD, the pan European alternative funds regulation introduced in 2012.
CIM Europe manages 99 funds with total AUM of approx. EUR 27Bn as of September 30, 2025. CIM Europe is composed of 12 full time employees in Luxembourg, managed on a day-to-day basis by its four Conducting Officers. CIM Europe is governed by four Board members.
The funds managed by CIM Europe are distributed to limited partners mainly across Europe and are divided into three segments: Private Equity, Real Assets, and Credit.
Position Summary
This individual will support the Conducting Officer for Oversight on the delegated functions (in particular for Portfolio Management, Marketing, IT and Depositary Banks) in the Luxembourg AIFM, covering private equity, real assets and credit strategies. As Oversight Officer at Carlyle you will assist the day-to-day activities as follows.
Responsibilities
Position Summary
This individual will support the Conducting Officer for Oversight on the delegated functions (in particular for Portfolio Management, Marketing, IT and Depositary Banks) in the Luxembourg AIFM, covering private equity, real assets and credit strategies. As Oversight Manager at Carlyle you will assist the day-to-day activities as follows.
Primary Responsibilities
· Oversight of Delegates: (60%)
• Being involved in the initial and ongoing due diligence processes and on-going monitoring on service providers and delegates, for instance:
- Due diligence questionnaire definition, formalisation and review
- Regular monitoring performed on service providers and delegates
- Determining, implementing and monitoring of Key Performance Indicators & Incident Reports produced by delegates and service providers
- Collect and assess KPI reportings with internal and external stakeholders on a quarterly basis
- Sample testing to cover any particular risks identified
• Contribute to the development of the framework of procedures governing the delegation oversight
• Assisting with the formalization of oversight materials
• Co-ordination with external service providers and group delegates, attend regular calls with delegates
• Assist in preparing the onboarding of new funds with the service providers and delegates
• Being involved in the registration and marketing as asked by fund formation/Fund Management teams/IR teams
• Review marketing materials prepared for the French Tied Agent acting on behalf of CIM Europe
• Performing ICT controls as required under DORA Regulation
• Assisting with the preparation, and timely and accurate execution of Service Level Agreements
• Assist the Conducting Officer in managing daily operations and delegates oversight activities
• Promptly alert Conducting Officer of any issues identified
· Reporting (25%)
• Assisting with the preparation, and timely and accurate execution of Regulatory AIFM Reporting
• Support the Conducting Officer with the preparation of monthly meetings and quarterly board reporting materials
• Assist with operational reporting on ad-hoc basis
· Contribute to the implementation of new laws and regulations impacting the portfolio management, marketing and ICT activities within the AIFM (5%)
· ICT Automation (10%)
• Analyse, design, document and maintain end-to-end processes; describe their business rules; propose improvement through automation (As is process --> To be processes)
• develop tactical or workaround solutions to improve process and to gain productivity (use of coding, VBA, Python, PowerBI, Tableau, ...)
• Ensure the link between business, IT and the external provider
Qualifications
Requirements
Education & Certificates
- Bachelor/Masters’ Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or similar qualification.
- High proficiency in Sharepoint, Outlook, Adobe, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word
- Any additional ICT qualification/certificate is considered a plus
Professional Experience
- Have at least 5 years of proven experience in a similar role or in a Luxembourg Audit Firm
- Knowledge & understanding of Alternative Investment Fund structures and preferably Luxembourg AIFM requirement
- Interest in portfolio management, marketing, ICT and alternative investments fund industry
