Position Summary
The Treasury & Accounts Payable Associate will support Carlyle’s Europe Real Estate business unit with the execution of payment processes, selected accounts payable activities, and related treasury administration.
The role combines project implementation and day-to-day operational execution. Initially, the Associate will focus on key treasury and AP initiatives, including the restructuring of banking platform user groups and the insourcing of AP activities. Over time, the role will assume broader ownership of recurring payment, AP, and treasury support processes for the Europe Real Estate platform.
The successful candidate will work closely with both the central Treasury team and the Europe Real Estate team, receiving structured onboarding on treasury tools, systems, cross-segment processes, and Europe Real Estate-specific fund structures and operating requirements.
Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
- Support the end-to-end execution of Europe Real Estate payment processes, including invoice payments, internal cash movements, and transaction-related wires, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal controls.
- Perform selected accounts payable activities, including invoice review, coding, matching, approval follow-up, payment preparation, and coordination of supplier or unpaid-item queries.
- Assist with vendor onboarding and payment control procedures, including verification of vendor information and coordination with relevant internal stakeholders to ensure documentation is properly maintained in the appropriate systems.
- Monitor bank accounts and treasury administration for the Europe Real Estate business, including account oversight, balance tracking, reporting support, and participation in bank account opening and maintenance processes.
- Liaise with banks and internal teams to support timely payment execution, resolution of operational issues, and circulation of transaction confirmations or related payment documentation where required.
- Maintain appropriate logs, records, and reporting to support treasury operations, audit readiness, and management oversight.
- Play an active role in process improvement and implementation projects, with an initial focus on banking platform access restructuring and the transition / insourcing of AP-related activities.
- Provide operational backup support to selected cross-segment treasury processes when needed, while also working within a broader team model that ensures continuity of Europe Real Estate treasury coverage.
Qualifications
Professional Experience
- 2–3 years of experience in treasury operations, accounts payable, finance operations, or banking / cash management
- Strong organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail
- Proactive, dynamic, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable working across teams and coordinating with finance, legal, banking, and operational stakeholders
- Familiarity with payment platforms, banking portals, and AP workflows; exposure to AP systems is an advantage
- Fluency in English required; additional European languages are a strong plus
