Position Summary
- Communicating the timing and details of transactions
- Preparing analysis of accounting treatment of transactions under U.S. GAAP and drafting relevant disclosures.
- Preparing / reviewing documentation that supports internal processes, audit or other requirements.
- Preparing / reviewing Annual and Quarterly Reports on Form 10-K and 10-Q, Current Reports on Form 8-K and other relevant regulatory reporting and filing these reports with the SEC according to the required regulatory timelines.
Responsibilities
- Prepare / review materials in collaboration with third party administrators to support monthly NAV used to price share transactions for perpetual capital fund, including calculation of NAV, management fees, and incentive fees, as well as the related Current Report on Form 8-K.
- Preparing / reviewing Annual and Quarterly Reports on Form 10-K and 10-Q, Current Reports on Form 8-K and other relevant regulatory reporting and filing these reports with the SEC according to the required regulatory timelines, including the preparation/review of disclosures
- Facilitate cash movement through legal entity structures for deal activity and other fund activities in coordination with Fund Management and Corporate Accounting.
- Support investment transaction testing with external and internal auditors and relevant disclosures in the annual audit of the fund’s financial statements.
- Work with Internal Audit to document policies and procedures for internal controls.
- Prepare analysis and provide performance metrics, as requested.
- Assist in monitoring legal compliance with various fund agreements and arrangements, including credit facilities as applicable.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, develop and implement solutions.
- Participate in initiatives that help the department and firm meet strategy and goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree, required
- Accounting or Finance major, or relevant experience in financial services and / or fund administration combined with a major in another field, required
- CPA strongly preferred
- Minimum 2-4 years of relevant public accounting or private accounting experience, required. Experience with SEC reporting, a plus.
- Review experience with, and working knowledge of, U.S. GAAP financial reporting required
- Demonstrated accounting knowledge with the capability and desire to learn accounting and financial principles related to private equity, and the ability to apply those principles to the tasks at hand
- Excellent project management, planning and organizational skills – motivated, and not distracted, by competing priorities
- Excellent communication skills – both written and oral
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment
- Energized by working on new products and uncharted territory – has an entrepreneurial spirit
- Ability to adapt using multiple software applications
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel functionality and formulas
- Experience with accounting software and other applications, such as Investran, Workiva, PowerBI, ChatGPT or similar report writing applications
