Position Summary
The Carlyle Group is seeking an Intern to join the Carlyle Europe Partners team in Barcelona. The role is focused on portfolio reporting, valuation support and performance monitoring across Carlyle's portfolio companies. The successful candidate will work closely with the local investment team, the Fund Management team in London and finance teams across the portfolio, contributing to internal reporting, investor reporting and portfolio analytics.
The position offers broad exposure to a diversified portfolio of businesses across industries and provides a unique opportunity to develop strong analytical, financial reporting and stakeholder management skills.
Responsibilities
The Intern’s role spans the entire portfolio reporting and monitoring process, including:
· Portfolio Reporting: Review and analyze periodic financial and operational reporting received from portfolio companies, including KPI tracking, variance analysis and performance monitoring against budgets and business plans. Maintain portfolio monitoring databases and ensure data accuracy and consistency across reporting cycle.
· Portfolio Valuations: Support the quarterly portfolio valuation process by collecting and validating financial information, updating valuation materials and coordinating with investment professionals and fund management team.
· Portfolio Monitoring: Work directly with finance teams across portfolio companies to collect, reconcile and validate reporting information, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of portfolio data.
· Investor & Internal Reporting: Assist in the preparation of portfolio reviews, valuation reports, investor reporting materials and presentations for internal stakeholders. Perform ad hoc financial and operational analyses to support portfolio management and reporting requirements.
Qualifications
· Currently enrolled as a bachelor or master’s student or recent graduate
· Excellent academic track record
