Your role at Clorox:
Are you an experienced creative who can set the vision, while also minding the details? Clorox is looking for an Associate Creative Director – Content to shape the creative work that really connects with consumers wherever they are – across digital, social, e-commerce, and experiential platforms. In this role, you’ll lead a talented team of writers and designers, working closely with strategy, production, and account teams to create high impact content that connects, converts, and inspires.This role is built for a strong conceptual thinker who can effectively guide and mentor creative teams on turning ideas into successful execution. We’re looking for an experienced creative leader who has empathy for our hundreds of millions of diverse consumers, and who thrives in a fast-paced, high volume environment (2,500+ projects a year). From quick-turn creative to fully integrated campaigns, you’ll help shape how our iconic brands show up in the world. In this role, you will:
Manage content creative execution for a group of Clorox brands, ensuring a standard of excellence and consistency across all of our creative executions
Drive creative vision for brands, bringing campaign thinking and conceptual direction to paid, owned, and earned marketing executions
Create campaigns and executions that communicate to a variety of audiences, with a growing focus on younger, multi-cultural millennial audiences
Experience working in a variety of marketing channels, with emphasis on storytelling across a variety of mostly digital touchpoints, including social, websites, CRM, and e-commerce spaces
Lead content productions, providing guidance on executions including video and photo shoots, storyboarding, mood boards, etc.
Create a coherent marketing ecosystem across brands, in partnership with the Associate Creative Director-Packaging
Work closely with partners in account management, strategy, and project management to understand business goals and brainstorm creative solutions
Drive human-centered, purpose-focused ideas for brands, making sure that all marketing connects with people. Often translating AOR advertising campaigns to additional marketing channels
Strong point of view and leadership skills, including an ability to make decisions on creative concepts to bring to brand reviews and willingness to make strong recommendations to brand partners, with compelling rationale, on which option best solves the business challenge
Serve as creative contact for day-to-day brand partners
Evaluate assignments/opportunities and allocate the correct creative resource (designer/writer/UX lead) needed to serve the brand challenge
Meet team needs for speed and quick-turn deliverables, allowing work with low creative lift to move quickly into execution
Assemble creative presentations, from concept to execution through production, with the help of account and project management
Meet billable hour requirements while also driving revenue growth through new ideas
Embrace, champion, and implement new ways of working, including generative artificial intelligence
TALENT LEADERSHIP AND PEOPLE MANAGEMENT
Manage a team of 1-4 creative specialists, including writers and designers
Manage team utilization rate, ensuring that team members are working and workloads are equitable throughout their team
Create actionable developmental plans for direct reports and provide continuous feedback to advance careers and remove obstacles to their success
Right-size the team effort, ensuring low-creative lift work moves quickly with few layers, while higher-value work receives more scrutiny and attention
CLIENT MANAGEMENT/EXTERNAL FOCUS
Establishes strong relationships with brand partners
Understands corporate strategy and goals. Ensures all Electro strategies are tied to them and are effectively communicated to the team
Stays abreast of industry and marketing landscape, understanding best practices and new opportunities
What we look for:
7+ years of experience in creative marketing (as a copywriter, designer or art director) with experience in ad, public relations, branding, innovation, or packaging agencies
1+ years as a people manager of other creative employees, contractors, and vendors
Leadership and development of integrated creative projects, including packaging, owned digital, video content, campaigns, film/video, and other content creation
Experience developing brand standards and brand voice
Desirable requirements:
Creative operations experience in a medium to large organization
In-house experience is a plus
Understanding of digital production process with experience collaborating with digital strategists, UX, analytics, and developers
Direction of video shoots and directing on-screen talent in studio and on location
Understands production budgets and timelines
Digital production and workflow
Work in the consumer packaged goods categories
International experience is a plus

This role requires the candidate to be based out of Oakland, CA due to business needs. We use broad salary ranges that reflect the competitive market for similar jobs, provide sufficient opportunity for growth as you gain experience and expand responsibilities, while also allowing for differentiation based on performance. Based on the breadth of our ranges, most new hires will start at Clorox in the first half of the applicable range. Your starting pay will depend on job-related factors, including relevant skills, knowledge, experience and location. The applicable salary range for every role in the U.S. is based on your work location and is aligned to one of three zones according to the cost of labor in your area.
–Zone A: $128,000 - $252,200
–Zone B: $117,400 - $231,200
–Zone C: $106,700 - $210,200
