Your role at Clorox:

The Process Department Manager will oversee the 24/7 operation of the processing area in the Clorox Wipes Factory, acting as both an operations leader and a technical project manager. This hybrid role is ideal for a hands-on leader who can drive day-to-day operational excellence while applying technical expertise to lead capital and process improvement projects. By ensuring efficient, safe, and high-quality processing, this manager will meet daily production goals and maintain the highest standards of sanitization, product quality, and equipment reliability. This leader will partner with Quality teams to develop and maintain rigorous standards on cleaning, sanitization, and batching, ensuring products consistently meet specifications and enable smooth product delivery to the packaging lines.

In this role, you will:

  • Oversee daily operations within the processing area, ensuring adherence to production schedules, safety protocols, and quality standards.
  • Act as a hybrid leader who manages both the operational team and technical processes, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation to maintain 24/7 coverage and meet production targets.
  • Own and lead process improvement and capital investment projects, leveraging technical knowledge to enhance equipment reliability, processing efficiency, and production throughput.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities, enhance system productivity, and support factory sustainability goals through technical innovations and data-driven improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution and alignment with business objectives, balancing operational needs with technical improvements.
  • Partner closely with Quality teams to establish, document, and maintain strict cleaning and sanitization standards in line with regulatory and Clorox guidelines.
  • Develop and uphold batching standards to guarantee all products meet Clorox’s quality specifications, minimizing line stoppages or production delays due to processing issues.
  • Continuously monitor and adjust processes to optimize quality and product consistency.
  • Utilize Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement across all aspects of processing operations.
  • Lead root cause analysis efforts to resolve quality or efficiency issues, implement corrective actions, and prevent recurrence.
  • Implement and monitor KPIs to track departmental performance, proactively addressing any gaps and using technical insights to improve outcomes

Team Development & Safety:

  • Foster an environment focused on safety, adherence to all regulatory requirements, and maintaining a zero-incident culture.
  • Lead and develop the processing team, providing ongoing training and development opportunities that build technical skills and promote career growth.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.

What we look for:

  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience in manufacturing, ideally within a process-driven environment.
  • Strong background in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proven project management experience, with technical acumen to lead and execute capital and process improvement projects.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of quality assurance practices, particularly around cleaning, sanitization, and product batching standards.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Quality, Maintenance, and Production teams.
  • Flexibility to manage a 24/7 operational area, ensuring all shifts meet processing goals and standards.
