Your role at Clorox:

The Clorox Company is seeking a qualified candidate for a Molding Technician position at our Forest Park, GA site. This facility uses automated packaging equipment and utilities to manufacture and distribute Clorox Liquid Bleach products. The molding support mechanic provides troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment to resolve and mitigate/eliminate equipment losses & breakdowns throughout the molding department. Tasks will require the utilization of hand and power tools, shop equipment, and welding equipment.

This role requires a thorough understanding of the blow molding process, including melting, extruding, and molding plastic. You will ensure set up, operate, and tend to plastic molding, casting, or core making machines to mold, cast, or tend to thermoplastic parts or products. Given the nature of the work, which involves high-temperature equipment and moving machinery, maintaining focus and being aware of the overall operation is essential.

The hourly rate starts: $29.37 with opportunities to advance through a skill-based pay system.

In this role, you will:

Candidates must demonstrate working knowledge in several technical areas to be an asset to the position’s internal customers. These include, but are not limited to the following:


Essential Functions:
o Always adhere to all Safety rules and procedures
o Adhere to all Molding and Maintenance Department procedures
o Learn and perform troubleshooting techniques including the ability to recognize wear/damage on several types of equipment prior to catastrophic failure.
o Be able to discern subtle changes in equipment function to prevent chronic causes of downtime and premature component failures
o Perform various maintenance functions to make setup repairs and rebuild components using the appropriate tools.
o Strong ability to read, understand, and interpret technical data/service manuals, SOGs, troubleshooting guides, drawings, JIBs, JAs, etc.
o Update technical documentation as required.
o Utilize LEDS/ Process Book to help in predicting and troubleshooting issues.
o Competently use SAP to create, find, edit, print, and complete work orders.
o Demonstrate a strong commitment to the Plant non-negotiables (Safety, Quality, Environmental and Housekeeping).
o Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills to respond appropriately to supervisors and co-workers.
o Self-motivated work behavior requires limited to no supervision.
o Project a positive company image by interacting with fellow employees, customers, and management in a cooperative, supportive, and courteous manner; display an attitude of professionalism; comply with company dress code.
o Demonstrate ability to prioritize work and/or complete prioritized work as received from the molding department
o Will be required to assist in all types of maintenance and operational activities in the molding department to optimize equipment performance.

What we look for:

Mechanical Requirements:
Candidate will gain knowledge or have experience demonstrating the ability to:
• Read and update technical information & documentation/drawings
• Use hand and power tools.
• Use shop equipment including drill press, band saw, presses, etc.
• Identify and install bearings and seals.
The candidate must demonstrate an understanding of:
• Mechanical drive systems.
• Shaft alignment techniques and tools.
• Lubrication
• Equipment theory of operation
• Candidate will gain knowledge of or have experience with the ability to perform the following tasks using various shop equipment:


Technical Aptitude:
The primary technical skill the candidate must possess relates to work with industrial blow molding and bottle handling equipment. The department has a variety of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment that must be maintained and repaired. Successful candidates should possess the ability, aptitude, and drive to troubleshoot these systems with a minimum of supervision to support manufacturing.

Education and Work Experience:
Candidate can substitute successful completion of a two (2) year college curriculum in technical areas AND/OR vocational school certificates of completion of training in electrical or mechanical technical areas. Other vendor courses in machining, electricity, welding, or air conditioning – refrigeration is highly desirable and may be considered as experience. A wide exposure to various technical areas during past work experiences will be evaluated on an individual base.

  • At least 3 years of Industrial Mechanical and/or Molding experience is required.

  • Candidate must display safe work practices and demonstrate those behaviors on a consistent basis.

  • Candidates must be able to present information to groups with confidence.

  • Demonstrate enthusiasm and pride in their work.

  • Demonstrate initiative and ownership in addressing problems as they arise without supervision and development creative and implement effective solutions.

  • Be willing to work overtime as needed. Workdays and schedules may change periodically according to business needs.
