Position Summary (Mission/Purpose) The Part-Time Document Writer supports the creation, updating, and maintenance of compliance-related documentation for safety, quality, and operational processes. This role works closely with Safety, Quality, and Operations teams to ensure procedures and work instructions are accurate, clear, and current. The position focuses on documenting existing processes, updating controlled documents, and supporting audit and compliance needs in a manufacturing environment

This role works closely with Safety, Quality, and Operations teams to ensure procedures and work instructions are accurate, clear, and current. The position focuses on documenting existing processes, updating controlled documents, and supporting audit and compliance needs in a manufacturing environment
In this role, you will:
- Create, revise, and maintain documentation such as:
- Safety procedures and policies
- Quality system documents (SOPs, work instructions, job aids)
- Operational and compliance-related procedures
- Update existing documents to reflect process changes, equipment updates, or regulatory requirements.
- Work with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather information and translate processes into clear, easy-to-follow documents.
- Ensure documents follow established templates, formatting standards, and version control requirements.
- Support document control activities, including tracking revisions, approvals, and periodic reviews.
- Maintain organized document repositories (e.g., SharePoint or shared drives).
- Assist Safety and Quality teams with documentation needs related to audits, inspections, or internal reviews.
- Identify outdated or missing documentation and flag opportunities for improvement.
- Follow established documentation and confidentiality standards.
Years and Type of Experience:
- Minimum:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Strong written communication skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to organize information clearly and accurately.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word and other Microsoft Office tools.
- Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines.
- Comfortable working with plant personnel and cross-functional teams.
- Desirable:
- Some college coursework in technical writing, business, quality, safety, or a related field.
- Experience in a manufacturing, safety, quality, or regulated environment.
- Familiarity with procedures, work instructions, or document control practices.
- Experience using SharePoint or similar document management systems
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Clear and concise writing skills
- Organization and time management
- Willingness to learn plant processes and compliance requirements
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Combination of office and plant-floor environment.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and work at a computer.
- Occasional time spent in production areas as needed to understand processes.
- High school diploma or GED required.
