Your role at Clorox:
The MRO Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and optimizing maintenance, repair, and operations activities to support plant reliability, safety, and production performance. This role serves as the central point of coordination between Maintenance, Production, Engineering, and Materials Management, ensuring effective execution of planned, preventive, and corrective maintenance while minimizing equipment downtime and operational disruptions.In this role, you will:
The primary goal of the MRO Coordinator is to minimize maintenance related downtime and optimize the utilization (and effectiveness) of the facility's maintenance resources. The MRO Coordinator is responsible for promoting and maintaining cooperation of the production and technical teams through effective and constant communications and supporting and training new production team maintenance planners. The MRO Coordinator leverages enterprise systems such as SAP S/4HANA, Extended Warehouse Management (EWM), and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) to drive data accuracy, visibility, compliance, and continuous improvement across maintenance and materials processes.
Essential Responsibilities
Maintenance Planning & Coordination
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate all maintenance work, including preventive maintenance (PMs), corrective work, emergencies, and capital or project-related activities.
- Serve as the primary coordination point for maintenance activities between Technical Support Teams and Production.
- Maintain an effective and prioritized maintenance backlog aligned with plant business needs and reliability targets.
- Follow up on emergency and unplanned work to ensure proper execution, documentation, and root cause tracking.
SAP S/4HANA & Digital Systems
- Utilize SAP S/4HANA Plant Maintenance (PM) modules to create, plan, release, and close work orders, ensuring accurate labor, parts, and cost capture.
- Analyze maintenance data and performance metrics (e.g., backlog, schedule compliance, equipment history, maintenance costs) to drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure all maintenance activities, equipment histories, and PM strategies are properly documented and maintained within SAP.
Materials & Inventory Management (EWM)
- Coordinate with Materials Management to ensure optimal MRO inventory levels using SAP EWM, minimizing stockouts and excess inventory.
- Monitor and provide feedback on spare parts usage, kitting effectiveness, and material availability to support maintenance execution.
- Support cycle counting, inventory accuracy initiatives, and proper storage and housekeeping standards in maintenance and stockroom areas.
MES & Production Integration
- Interface with MES to align maintenance activities with production schedules and equipment availability.
- Use MES data to identify equipment performance trends, downtime drivers, and maintenance improvement opportunities.
- Support seamless communication between Maintenance and Production teams during planned and unplanned events.
Compliance, Standards & Best Practices
- Ensure all maintenance work complies with company standards and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
- Embed best practices for repairs, modifications, and installations into work plans and execution.
- Support safety initiatives and promote a strong safety culture within maintenance and technical teams.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Provide leadership, guidance, and training for production team maintenance planners and new system users.
- Promote cooperation and clear communication across Maintenance, Production, Engineering, and Materials teams.
- Track maintenance labor utilization, chargeable time, and productivity metrics to support staffing and workload decisions.
What we look for:
- Strong understanding of facility maintenance processes and MRO procurement.
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and utilize schematics, P&IDs, and O&M manuals for troubleshooting and planning.
- Proficiency in SAP S/4HANA (PM); experience with EWM and MES strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
