Your role at Clorox:

Working in a participative environment, the Plant Process Engineer leads the design and implementation of complex site-based capital and manufacturing improvement projects. Participates in teams as a technical expert and can work with minimal management oversight. Evaluates the feasibility of manufacturing, and process systems improvements and modifications. Manages and directs the work of outside engineering consultants and construction contractors during design and implementation of projects. Provides day-to-day process engineering technical expertise to Operations as needed.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead process engineering capital projects.

  • Provide process engineering feasibility analysis for potential projects or process improvements in Compounding (including scale up).

  • Process engineering resource for capital project teams.

  • Provide process technical support to manufacturing operations.

  • Lead miscellaneous engineering or administrative projects / tasks

  • Will interface with Process, Contractor, Maintenance, R&D, and Production Service resources. Through leadership and influence, manages project teams and other cross-functional teams to deliver capital projects, compounding process improvements, and solve process problems. Manages and directs the work of outside engineering consultants and construction contractors during design and implementation of projects.

  • Interact with R&D to develop scale up production for the plant.

  • Work within Change Management to address new or modified processes and procedures.

  • Assist the Training Manager in writing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Job Aids, and standard work for newly purchased and existing equipment.

  • Work with the Safety Manager on projects to ensure safety excellence on assigned lines.

  • Work with QC department on projects to ensure repeatable good quality on assigned lines.

  • Develops expense and capital budgets for projects. Must manage scope, actual spending, commitments, and anticipated future spending within approved budget. Typical project approved project budgets will be less than $500K.

  • Assignments emphasize the application of expert knowledge to improve manufacturing’s competitive performance.

  • Provides cross-functional team the technical knowledge and leadership required for the development of manufacturing equipment essential to line extension and product improvements.

  • Develops and implements projects/programs that provide competitive improvements.

  • Plans and leads small to medium-sized projects/programs that include the integration of outside technical resources.

What we look for:

  • Engineering Degree (BSME / BSEE / BSChE)

  • 2+ years of engineering experience

  • Experience with capital projects and capital budget process

  • Solid analytical skills

  • High level of initiative and ability to drive results

  • Change management experience and discipline

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, SAP S4, Pi-Vision, and utilization of Engineering Standards

  • Problem solving, data collection, and analysis skills

  • CI / WCM / TPM / Lean Manufacturing processes and techniques

  • Proven skills effectively to document and communicate technical information

Based on the breadth of our ranges, most new hires will start at Clorox in the first half of the applicable range. Your starting pay will depend on job-related factors, including relevant skills, knowledge, experience and location. The applicable salary range for every role in the U.S. is based on your work location and is aligned to one of three zones according to the cost of labor in your area.

–Zone A: $72,400 - $132,500

–Zone B: $66,400 - $121,500

–Zone C: $60,300 - $110,400
