What you’ll do day-to-day
- Research economic issues and present research results in reports, tables, and charts.
- Conduct differentiated, bottoms-up fundamental economic analyses of companies, business models, relevant industry metrics, and industries.
- Prepare written technical reports for management to help them understand how the economy will affect companies and industries.
- Formulate recommendations, policies, and plans to solve economic problems.
- Conduct surveys and collect data by participating in quarterly earnings calls and monitoring material news events related to stressed and distressed companies.
- Collect data by attending industry conferences and management meetings, identifying and analyzing relevant industry metrics, and evaluating new coverage.
- Analyze data using mathematical models and statistical techniques, including building and using financial models, benchmarking, and other analytical tools, to explain economic phenomena and forecast trends in relevant sectors.
- Interpret and forecast market trends in the credit space and review present and historical trends, SEC filings, transcripts, presentations, company materials, government and industry publications, and other sources of data.
