Who we’re looking for
Toyota’s Weld Department is seeking a passionate and highly motivated Controls Engineer to support our mission of delivering world-class manufacturing performance.
This role is critical in maintaining and optimizing weld shop systems, ensuring safety, quality, and system reliability for both our team members and customers.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the department’s efforts to meet and exceed company KPIs through hands-on technical leadership and continuous improvement initiatives.
What you’ll be doing
Lead/Support shop Capital Projects
Lead/Support shop Refurbishment Projects
Lead/Support the Management of Weld Shop Systems
Lead/Support the Management of Electrical Schematics for control system circuits
Lead/Support the Management of Shop Machine Vision Systems to ensure zero flow out
Lead/Support the Management of Engineering Memo’s/Standard changes and implementation
Lead/Support safety control system changepoints and issues in the shop
Support breakdown repair activity as needed
Analyze failures and follow-up on needed countermeasures to prevent reoccurrence
Lead/Support the development of stronger Preventative Maintenance and Refurbishment Plans
Lead/Support shop Predictive Maintenance Systems
Lead/Support shop RJ initiatives and ensure all systems are designed with sustainment in mind to ensure long-term success
What you bring
Associates degree (or higher) in Electrical Controls or 3 to 5 years of equivalent professional Controls experience
High level of experience maintaining/refurbishing Weld shop equipment
PLC/Controls/Robotic/Motion Control/Automation experience
Experience with computer software systems and controls design/troubleshooting
Able to work daily overtime and weekends as needed
Customer First Mindset
Added bonus if you have
Toyota Body Weld automation control standards knowledge
PIS and Yewmac System experience
Machine Vision experience
3D Design experience
Computer Programming and Data Analysis experience
