ABOUT THE ROLE Turner Construction, located in Vancouver, is seeking a full-time Business Development Specialist to work with the Business Development. In this role, you will execute business development strategy, planning, activities, and teams for assigned market segment and/or region. The position requires availability to work on-site or in the office from Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities - Conduct research to identify and determine qualified target areas, projects, and clients in support of business development (BD) strategy.
- Prospect new sales leads via cold calling, market research, and frequent participation in industry events.
- Develop, track, and maintain lists of business opportunities in market segment and/or local region.
- Perform preliminary review of Owner Contracts for accuracy, maintain detailed accounts, and contract information within CRM (Client Relationship Management), including Engagement Agendas, Contract Authorizations (CA), and Sales Scorecard.
- In conjunction with BD Manager establish and conduct client maintenance program.
- Participate in contract review and business development deals.
- Lead BD kick-off meetings and hand-off for project launch to project operations team.
- Review proposal and presentation quality reviews for coherence, completeness, compliance, consistency, and correctness.
- Maintain strict adherence to company ethics and compliance requirements for all clients, contracts, and interactions.
- Lead pursuit strategy and organize internal resources for assigned business development and sales prospects.
- Support development of profit plans for client proposals.
- Collaborate with marketing team to support project pursuit team in making effective presentations.
- Coordinate with Marketing to develop client centric proposals and presentations.
- Sustain regular presence both physically, virtually and via social media across various industry sectors.
- Required to attend and/or participate in early morning and late evening events and meetings.
- Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned.

ABOUT YOU - Bachelor’s Degree from accredited degree program with minimum of 5 years of construction industry experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Good understanding of Commercial Construction, including an Operations perspective and/or work in Preconstruction
- Knowledge of business development and sales operations
- Ability to sustain ongoing interpersonal professional relationships and continuously build relationships for business development
- Professional verbal and written communication skills
- Professional presentation delivery skills with ability to project confidence, poise, and influence and engage others
- Demonstrate accountability in all actions and able to maintain confidential and sensitive information
- Strong negotiation, conflict and problem solving skills
- Flexible to extend working hours beyond normal working hours

The annual base salary range for this position may be CA$82,000 to CA$123,000, depending on experience and fit.
