Job Description

What you will do:

  • The Automation Systems Engineer performs design, scripting, testing, implementing, maintaining and modifying automations of moderate complexity, significance, and risk.

  • Creates comprehensive test plans and test cases; defines automation data needs across systems and creates a plan to coordinate this test data.

  • Creates and executes performance tests to ensure the expected automation performance levels are achieved.

  • Writes documentation that describes automation capabilities and operating procedures.

  • Conducts analysis of organizational needs for the creation and implementation of automation solutions; participates in feasibility assessments of new automation opportunities and helps determine best approach for automation.

  • Directs or recommends enhancements for system performance, reliability, scalability, and capacity.

  • Leads the configuration of hardware and software solutions. Evaluates product and service solutions.

  • Leads and develops multi-platform converged enterprise standards.

  • Models and provides solutions targeted to meet existing, enhanced, and new platform solutions for business, customer, and infrastructure services.

  • Subject matter expert in multiple hardware and software platforms.

  • Leads advanced knowledge sharing and recommendations for system hardware/software solutions, telecommunication protocols, configurations, security, network protocols, and services.

  • Develops new solutions and integrated service offerings to meet large-scale or enterprise projects or service requirements.

  • Troubleshoots, resolves, and recommends improvement for systems, network, and security problems at an advanced level across multiple/converged technology solutions, services, and platforms.

  • Coordinates the maintenance and modification of systems.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience
- At least 5 years of experience within a total information technology (IT) environment
- At least 10 years of experience with the design, development and support of technology infrastructure

This is a hybrid role based out of one of our below locations - Irving TX, Atlanta GA, Minneapolis MN, Denver CO, Cincinnati OH, Portland OR, Brookfield WI, Charlotte NC.

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Strong experience with configuration management and infrastructure automation (Saltstack, Chef, SQL, PowerShell, Ansible)

  • Hands on coding skills in Python.

  • Experience with Azure, AWS or other cloud providers

  • Experience using source control (GIT)

  • Hardware, system software and server infrastructure knowledge specifically in Windows Operating systems.

  • Experience using CI/CD tools such as Jenkins to deploy to and manage infrastructure

  • Experience with HP, Cisco UCS, or Dell server platforms

  • Experience managing infrastructure templates

  • Experience working in DevOps/Agile environment

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, US Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401k contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $99,365.00 - $116,900.00 - $128,590.00
