Job Description

Us bank is seeking a Hands-On Software engineering Manager who Focuses on technological solution delivery by guiding and inspiring strong coding practices and solid software design decisions among their team.

This is a hybrid role based out of one of our below locations - Irving TX, Dallas TX, Atlanta GA, Minneapolis MN, Charlotte NC., Portland OR, Denver, CO, Brookfield WI (Team members who are in a hybrid role typically spend three or more days a week at a U.S. Bank location,)

What You will do

  • Lead a team of engineers.

  • You will be architecting and implementing high performing software applications.

  • Responsible for application performance, complex APIs and integration across multiple applications.

  • Work cross functionally with Product, Design, QA and other partner teams to deliver well-engineered experiences that delight customers.

  • Manage technical projects or programs, working closely with product managers, engineers and technical staff to develop and track release milestones and schedules for the many moving parts that need to come together. Develop a plan and schedule with well-defined milestones.

  • You will own release schedules in our fast-paced environment.

  • Manage communication of progress/status within the core team and external to the team; escalate issues as necessary.

  • Assess the quality of releases through monitoring of incoming bugs and code changes to identify quality issues and trends.

  • Develop tools and processes to improve software engineering productivity.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- Six to eight years of relevant technical experience
- Five or more years of leading a software engineering team

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience working with geographically distributed engineering teams

  • Strong people management skills including mentoring and coaching engineers of all skill levels

  • Able to collaborate with partner engineering teams, product team, product owner, scrum master, third party vendors, customers, etc

  • Architecting and implementing high performing software applications.

  • Responsible for application performance, complex APIs and integration across multiple applications with proven ability to deliver, manage and support REST APIs and GraphQL APIs

  • Proven hands on working experience managing APIs and Microservices with Good knowledge on Design patterns like CQRS and SAGA

  • Experience using PostgreSQL and MongoDB (or a similar no SQL databases)

  • 6+ years of experience in managing Cloud native applications in Azure or AWS is preferred.

  • 6+ years of experience with managing apps using open source technologies like Java, Spring boot, Kafka, etc. and containerization.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, US Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401k contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $129,455.00 - $152,300.00 - $167,530.00Job postings typically remain open for approximately 20 days of the posting date listed above, however the job posting may be closed earlier should it be determined the position is no longer required due to business need.
