Job Description

U.S. Bancorp is posting a senior position in the Wealth Corporate, Commercial and Institutional Banking (WCIB) Operations organization responsible for leadership of several core operations functions. This individual will partner with several lines of business as an integrated service provider, primarily within our Wealth Management Business group. This new leader will establish the vision and transformational direction for the operations functions in their organization and plan for achieving that vision for the future. In partnership with senior executive business leaders, the new individual will set and achieve long-term strategic objectives, building out further horizontal operational capabilities while delivering on near-team business objectives and client experience outcomes. This role will be responsible for leadership of approximately 70 professionals across North America with strong opportunities for the role to expand.

This individual will play a key leadership role in developing and delivering WCIB Operations strategic transformation priorities in line with U.S. Bank overall priorities, helping U.S Bank maintain its client-centric, modern, and innovation focused culture. U.S. Bank is focused on ‘best in class’ customer service, automating and digitizing processes, building new capabilities, and driving efficiency across business units and corporate functions, and as such, this individual must bring a passion for clients, a strong desire to lead change on behalf of customers and colleagues alike, and be able to operate in a centralized, highly accountable construct. This individual must strike the right balance between leading change at a swift pace while maintaining a disciplined focus on risk and compliance management.

This role could be based in any of U.S. Bancorp's key operational hubs.

Business Line Partnership

▪ Foster strong partnerships, act as an integrated service provider accountable to businesses and clients.

▪ Optimize frameworks for businesses to grow through service excellence

▪ Own and lead large scale transformation at pace while limiting organizational disruption

Leadership

▪ Establish operations strategy, business plans to enable high efficiency and service quality

▪ Be comfortable developing targets and establishing protocols to monitor performance against those targets.

▪ Ensure availability and alignment of capabilities, resources, and technology to internal clients.

▪ Responsible for delivering integrated operations solutions for multiple lines of business and the broader enterprise.

▪ Develop financial plan in line with WCIB Operations plan, secure its approval & ensure that it is not exceeded.

▪ Ensure availability of corporate contingency plan for core Operations processes

▪ Ensure periodical review and update of strategy in coordination with other business groups and enterprise partners.

Day-to-Day Management

▪ Dedicate focus toward business relationships (30%), organizational strategy (30%), and people engagement (40%)

▪ Implement processes in partnership with internal clients to optimize efficient and seamless delivery

▪ Develop and review service level agreements with internal clients to provide the required support.

▪ Ensure an effective balance of consistency in operating controls while maintaining flexibility and service excellence.

▪ Ensure compliance with internal and external compliance, policy, and audit requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10 or more years of experience in asset banking services, with a proven track record of leadership and achievement.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, products, and industry dynamics.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards in the banking sector.
  • Proven ability to navigate a complex and dynamic business environment.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, US Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401k contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
