Job Description

The Enterprise Fraud Risk Management Governance director leads a team of fraud governance professionals as part of the Enterprise Fraud and Payments Risk Management team within Risk Management and Compliance business line. This senior risk leader position will govern and oversee risk and control activities that directly or indirectly impact the Company’s fraud risk, and report to the Head of Fraud and Payments Risk Management.

Key responsibilities include:

Enhance and oversee implementation of the Enterprise Fraud Risk Management Policies and Standard.

Lead the development of mechanisms for ensuring ongoing adherence to the Enterprise Fraud Risk Management Policies and Standards.

Partner with the enterprise fraud analytics team to develop and execute on Authentication Risk Strategy oversight activities.

Directly oversee the execution of risk management governance routines, such as:

  • Governance reporting (e.g. Fraud Risk Management Quarterly Management Letters (QMLs) etc.)

  • Independent fraud risk assessment

  • Assess quantity and direction or risk and quality of risk management through the enterprise Risk Assessment Profile (RAP) processes.

  • Active participation in Root Cause Analysis of large adverse events

  • RCSA risk and control reviews

  • Fraud issue oversight

  • Maintain the enterprise’s fraud risk inventory through Enterprise Risk Management’s Risk Identification framework.

  • Collaborate across the team and the broader organization to support the bank’s Elder and Vulnerable Adult Financial exploitation program.

  • Partner with key stakeholders to identify and execute on Fraud Education and Awareness opportunities.

  • Fraud related complaint analysis


Additionally, this leader needs an expert understanding of applicable laws, regulations, financial services, and regulatory trends that affect the organization. This visible role will interact directly with other senior leaders and regulatory agencies (OCC and FRB), requiring expert level of presentation, relationship building, and negotiation skills. Lastly, a successful candidate will also possess the skills needed to effectively and credibly communicate with executives and senior leaders across the organization and regulators in an evolving regulatory environment.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's or advanced degree, or equivalent work experience
- Typically more than 15 years of applicable experience

Preferred Skills/Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or another applicable field
• Extensive experience in operational risk governance routines, preferably in the financial services industry
• Experience managing fraud risks within the financial services industry
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Exceptional problem solving, critical thinking, and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to build relationships cross-functionally and over the phone
• Ability to work with and influence at all levels of the organization, including with executive leadership
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, while establishing responsible deadlines
• Flexibility in day-to-day work and tolerance for ambiguity
• Positive ‘can-do’ attitude and a strong desire to continue to learn and ask questions
• Attention to detail in writing, planning, and communication

This role is hybrid. Team members who are in a hybrid role typically spend three days a week at the listed U.S. Bank location(s), while having flexibility on their work location for the other working days.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, US Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401k contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $165,325.00 - $194,500.00 - $213,950.00Job postings typically remain open for approximately 20 days of the posting date listed above, however the job posting may be closed earlier should it be determined the position is no longer required due to business need.
