Job Description

U.S. Bancorp Impact Finance (USBIF) is currently seeking a candidate to join our growing team of tax credit syndication professionals as a Project Management Associate (PMA). The PMA will lead all post-close work for renewable energy and historic tax credit syndicated funds and renewable energy transfer transactions. Responsibilities include financial benefit preparation, tax return analysis, timely collection of equity installments, and all post close cash distribution and reporting.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, analyze and negotiate financial models and address investor questions and requests.
  • Prepare and provide diligence materials requested by investors, counsel and/or consultants in furtherance of investor’s internal and external approval processes; review, analyze and respond to questions or requests regarding the investment structure, underlying projects and/or USBIF.
  • Review complex legal documents pertaining to structured credit arrangements and investments; work with counsel and business partners to negotiate with investors and manage risks on behalf of USBIF.
  • Review tax returns and associated tax documents for syndicated funds and transfer transactions and be able to communicate details of the tax items to the investors and purchasers.
  • Facilitate and organize the collection of tax equity installments from investors and transfer payments from purchasers with strict adherence to the policies and procedures outlined by U.S. Bank.
  • Participate in and support Syndications Project Managers during the closing of tax equity investments by investors; this includes traditional tax equity syndications as well as transfer transactions.
  • Participate in special projects, including the development and revision of internal policies, procedures and trainings.
  • Actively ensure compliance with the U.S. Bank Code of Ethics and all Anti‐Money Laundering, Bank Secrecy Act, and information security policies and procedures. Follow account opening procedures and internal suspicious activity referral requirements and processes.
Basic Qualifications
- Typically Bachelor's degree and five or more years of related experience
OR
- MBA/JD with one or more years of directly related experience
Preferred Skills/Experience
  • Highly motivated self-starter who has a good attention to detail, growth mindset, and ability to be comfortable in periods of unpredictability.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to drive components of projects.
  • Understanding of tax credit investment programs and structures, along with knowledge of regulatory and company risk policies.
  • Knowledge of or experience with financial modeling techniques and/or legal document negotiation. Ability to review and synthesize a large quantity of deal related documentation and materials, including third party reports, loan/investment documents, and other legal documents. Able to identify key issues and concerns, manage review timelines, and problem solve using creativity and innovation.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to effectively manage client timelines and needs. Ability to identify obstacles and manage expectations, both internally and externally.
  • Effective listener and advanced communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Effective critical thinker and creative problem solver.
  • Demonstrates coachability, a growth mindset and positive attitude.
  • Demonstrates interest in promoting diversity in the workplace and a commitment to maximizing equitable access to the benefits of tax credit investments.
  • Experience within the Renewable Energy industry.
  • Knowledge of construction finance and legal documentation.

Location Expectations

The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $98,175.00 - $115,500.00 - $127,050.00
