Your role

Do you want to be a dedicated, ambitious, and result-oriented Professional Network Ops Engineer with strong problem-solving-skills; ability to analyze and to push things forward, assuring establishing facts and present proposal solutions and options? Are you experienced in in taking part of major incidents to help for fixing the issue together with other highly skilled engineers?

We’re looking for someone to:

• troubleshoot complex network issues (L3)
• provide the technical expertise across the network technologies to support a stable and highly available network
• support a large variety of clients to make a real impact in terms of production stability, continuous service improvement
• share best practice across the environment
• make technical improvements in Network Services and look always for opportunities to automate repetitive tasks
• work closely with IT leadership, NOC and implementation team

Your team

You’ll be working in the Swiss region SRE operation team based in Zurich, as part of the Network Services division. We are a team with highly specialized network engineers providing services for Swiss user access and datacenter network.

Your expertise

• minimum of 4+ years industry experience with strong knowledge in the enterprise network technologies, incident-, problem-, vulnerability- and capacity management ideally in the Financial Services industry
• master’s, bachelor’s or a professional degree in computer technology. A plus are any specific network vendor certifications e.g. CCNA.
• track record of experience in an operation team, by fixing L3 incidents under high pressure and successful automated repetitive operational tasks
• in depth understanding and strong troubleshooting skills across all key technologies in Enterprise Data Center and Client LAN Networks (e.g. ACI, VRF, HSRP, VPC, LACP, QoS, Multicast)
• in depth understanding and strong troubleshooting skills across WAN technologies (e.g. SDWAN, MPLS), strong troubleshooting skills across routing protocols (e.g. EIGRP, OSPF, BGP) and an understanding of all key network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP & UDP, SNMP, FTP, TFTP, SSH, IPSec)
• experience with Public Cloud providers (Azure, AWS), Cisco products (e.g. Cisco ACI, Cisco DNAC, N9Ks, Cat9Ks)
• experience with WiFi products strongly desired
• experience with Arista and Juniper Routers & Switches, Firewalls and DHCP/DNS applications, Firewalls (e.g. Palo Alto, Fortinet) and Automation and Scripting is desirable and preferred (e.g. Python, Ansible)
• capability to build and maintain positive relationships with the internal customers, your colleagues and towards vendors you have proficient verbal and written communication skills in English and German
