Your role

Are you an expert when it comes to performing second-line-of-defense activities? Do you ‘think on your feet’, balancing commercial objectives with legal, regulatory and ethical considerations? Do you advocate for the importance of operational risks?

We’re looking for an Operation risk control risk specialist that report directly to the Head ORC. The ideal candidates would be involved in the following :

• act as a compliance and operational risk control (C&ORC) subject-matter expert for GWM business and supporting functions (HR, Finance, Operations..), supporting in managing risk for the location
• ensure a solid non-financial risk framework is in place and kept up-to-date with policies and procedures as well as legal, regulatory and business standards aligned with central risk appetite and location specifics
• deliver independent risk assessment and provide effective challenge to the 1st and 2nd line of defense in relation to consequential risks and the risk frameworks
• Escalate and report C&ORC risks and issues and agreeing appropriate mitigation
• Participate to the performance of 2LoD control plan based on the C&ORC standards and GWM guidance’s to ensure full compliance with the requirements of local regulatory bodies and central mandates
• Non-financial risk modules execution and continuous review (RCSA, Incident management, F2B control review, Risk Appetite assessment…)
• Report deficiencies in the appropriate tools and to the proper Governance forums to raise awareness across local Management and UBS various Group Functions and GWM Business Division
• Carry out second-level controls in the various risk areas and ensure punctual deep dives or thematic review (suitability, fraud, AML/KYC, Financial reporting, transactions processing…)
• Ensure follow-up on the recommendations issued by the various supervisory authorities, GIA, and other independent oversight teams
• Participate to facilitate local governance forum and risk initiatives along with Ctb initiatives critical to risk and control processes
• Ensure appropriate level of regulatory watch over controlled and supervised topics
• Respond to requests from supervisory authorities and auditors.
• Contributes to overall design and effectiveness of the non-financial risk framework

Your team

You’ll be working in the ORC Team in Monaco. ORC mandate is to identify , assess and mitigate operational risk across the business division GWM and the location of Monaco. This team ensures the operational control framework is efficient, agile and adapted to the local regulatory framework.

Your expertise

• ideally 7/10 years of experience within a Bank or Audit company in a multicultural environment,
• a minimum of a 4 years bachelor degree or equivalent in Finance or risk based topics
• expertise around local regulatory Framework (Arrêté du 3 Novembre 2014, Orientations ACPR, Loi des activités Financières…)
• ability to apprehend banking products and services and understand features of Wealth Management underlying’s
• analytic, with the ability to provide practical solutions for minimizing risk
• result-oriented and assertive (you don’t shy away from challenging situations)
• fluent in French and English
