UBS is looking for a Network & Market Infrastructure (NMI), Regional Head of Market Management to:

• lead a team of experienced market managers, experts in how the cross-product post trade landscape works in each jurisdiction, and to manage the provider network in region whilst seeking new opportunities and enabling business growth and development
• provide risk management of providers in accordance with UBS policy, Operations Risk framework and regulatory requirements
• take commercial ownership of all securities and cash product related spend, managing fee negotiations, cost avoidance and reduction, and working to develop unit cost transparency enabling accurate P&L forecasting
• maintain and manage service and relationships with providers (agents, market counterparties and market infrastructures), allowing a holistic view of relationships across all entities and products and extracting improved risk/service/innovation value
• actively manage relationships with business leads to understand their requirements, bring provider product development and business enablement opportunities to them and lead business interactions with the providers and deliver post trade market expertise across our bank through analyzing market and regulatory changes, syndicating current market activity, networking with peers and other banks to horizon scan for emerging opportunities and risks
• people management and development of a small team of experts to ensure good coverage of market knowledge and expertise,

Your team

In NMI we are responsible for managing our bank’s network of post trade provider relationships, including agent banks and financial market utilities (CSD, CCP) that UBS contracts to provide custody, clearing, payment and settlement services. NMI is responsible for Post Trade provider (PTP) governance, setting the provider strategy including digital assets, ongoing risk and service management, commercial management, account inventory maintenance, processing and reporting of fees, market intelligence, and adherence to regulatory requirements. This is a role with connectivity to all Business Divisions, Shared Services, Operations, and the external provider network. Your role will be based in our Weehawken, NJ. location.

Your expertise

• ideally 10+ years of extensive experience in post-trade banking operations, particularly in market facing roles, with experience across the post trade third party provider and infrastructure landscape
• experience meeting regulatory requirements, with depth of knowledge in key client asset protection rules in the region, e.g. SEC 15c33 in the US or CASS in the UK
• strong communication skills and a track record of credibly and independently leading and influencing a diverse group, and representing their function at a standalone region or global level
• history of delivering successful strategic transformation, from building a business case through to sponsoring and coordinating project delivery
• current knowledge of post trade trends and innovation, such as changes in the regulatory landscape including operational resilience, and the growth and development of digital asset classes and digital custody
• experience building and leading of successful teams, who contribute and collaborate as part of a global team environment, as well as experience developing individuals to reach their full potential
• strong operational management skills – risk management and remediation, process and control design and implementation, coordinating time and resources to multiple competing objectives
