We’re looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to:

• determine the reliability of our digital products, technology services, and the infrastructure that underpins them
• respond to production incidents to gain first-hand experience of operational hotspots and to identify the root causes of problems
• collect and analyze operational data, define and monitor key metrics to identify and communicate areas for improvement
• minimize the risk and impact of failures by engineering operational improvements, such as predictive monitoring, auto scaling or self-healing
• apply a broad range of engineering practices with a focus on reliability, from instrumentation, performance analysis, and log analytics to automated testing, deployment, and operations
• ensure the quality, security, reliability, and compliance of our solutions by applying our digital principles and implementing both functional and non-functional requirements

Your team

This role is within the Core Trade and Cash Management team in Digital Core Services which is a Group Operations and Technology division servicing UBS Asset Management. The Sentinel Development team supports the main application utilized for Investment Guideline Monitoring (mandated compliance rules). This is a vendor provided system consisting of application and database on premise servers, a thick client as well as web services written to access common tools and APIs. The team support all of these elements in their current state with current focus on capacity for integration and a medium term requirement to modernize the application taking advantage of new vendor tools as well as utilizing UBS Am Tech technology stack. The team is a multiskilled team, based in India, Switzerland and the UK with users across the globe.

Your expertise

• ideally 7+ years of experience in either an Application Support role or Agile Development team, within Financial Services
• experience in Application Performance Monitoring (APM) Tools
• knowledge of Linux OS
• experience with Oracle databases and query language
• experience in some scripting languages
• experience with ASP.Net and C#, REST, Python
• experience with developing RESTful APIs
• knowledge of troubleshooting .NET applications
• knowledge of application and web servers (NGINX, Apache)
• 5+ years of experience on Azure
• knowledge about fundamentals of CI/CD
• excellent verbal and written communication skills along with strong collaboration skills

• someone who looks beyond the initial problem to how to create a better long term support offering for the end users
• passionate about technology and meeting and meeting business users needs through technical solutions
• keen to understand the critical role a rules system plays in portfolio management and learn the other affected parts of the domain (e.g. Data flows, connections, interfaces).
• someone who can collaborate with technical peers and business users alike
