Your role

Are you independent and self-driven? Do you have sharp analytic skills? We’re looking for someone like that who can:
– evaluate counterparty credit risk of a portfolio of Banks, Sovereign entities, Insurance, Hedge funds and family offices based on solid understanding of the counterparty's risk profile, business environment, exposure, and financial performance as well as a number of other quantitative and qualitative measures of counterparty’ credit worthiness (This includes client due diligence via client visit or conference call)
– prepare counterparty reviews/transactional credit proposals drawing conclusions relating to credit assessment, risk appetite, exposure drivers and business prospects
– hold delegated credit authority (within established risk-based limits) to approve new trades or to make recommendations to higher authority levels within Credit
– perform ad hoc credit risk analysis and portfolio deep dive when necessary.
– participate in portfolio reviews to identify risk developments or concentrations
– exercise judgment and escalate decisions of high-risk trades to higher authority levels, as needed
– ensure all regulatory requests, audit items and operational risk issues are dealt with in a disciplined, timely and efficient manner
– lead trading documentation negotiation including ISDA/CSA, Prime Brokerage and Repo Agreements

Your team

You will be working in the FI/HF Credit Risk team in Sydney aligned with the Investment Bank. The team is responsible for the credit assessment, monitoring, control, and transaction decision approval of UBS's counterparties, encompassing various Financial Institutions and Hedge Funds in Australasia. Our remit includes counterparty credit analysis and due diligence, limit setting, exposure management and ad hoc trade approvals.

Your expertise

You have:
– a university degree in finance or economics, or even engineering or mathematics
– strong analytical, quantitative and problem solving skills
– Ideally 7 years professional experience in a similar position or related financial services position
– Solid understanding of financial markets and trading products
– Excellent communication skills - the ability to communicate directly and professionally with clients and internal stakeholders is of critical importance to the role

You are:
– a team player with strong interpersonal skills to establish trustworthy relationships with internal peers, business, and senior management
– fluent in English (fluent verbal and strong English writing skills)*#LI-Hybrid
