Your role
• Develop, tune, and enhance AML transaction monitoring models (Actimize, Mantas, FICO Tonbeller, NORKOM, Google AML, etc.).
• Optimize transaction monitoring models in line with regulatory guidance.
• Work with scripting languages (Python preferred) for data manipulation and visualization (Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, PySpark).
• Analyse transactional data across banking services (correspondent, investment, traditional banking, etc.).
• Ensure compliance with UBS model development documentation standards - maintain the model documentation and draft memos or issue closure packs.

• Contribute to the end-to-end model lifecycle (development, validation, ongoing monitoring, tuning).
• Act as the primary liaison for senior management, auditors, regulators, and stakeholders.

Join UBS's GCRG Methodologies and Models team, the innovation hub for nonfinancial risk management. You’ll play a key role in ensuring our AML Transaction Monitoring Models comply with global risk governance and drive continuous improvements.
Your expertise
• 2+ years of experience in quantitative model development/validation, with financial services, risk, or compliance considered as a plus.
• Degree in fields: mathematics/ statistics, economics/ finance, data science, computer science or similar. Other fields can be considered if paired with relevant experience.
• Fluent in Python programming for data science (Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, etc.), experience with Object Oriented Programming (OOP) as an advantage.
• Fluent in data querying (SQL, with (Py)Spark considered as a plus).
• Experience with code version control (Git).
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
• Strong communication & project management skills, with the ability to present to regulators and senior executives.
• Knowledge of model risk governance, financial crime compliance, or transaction monitoring will be considered as an advantage, especially Below The Line (BTL) testing and scenario optimization.
