Your role

UBS Asset Management Technology is seeking a strong Java Engineer / Data Engineer, with technical and architectural experience at leading financial institutions to ensure successful development and delivery of a division wide Data Quality technology framework. Working in partnership with the Asset Management Chief Data Office’s Data Quality & Governance Team, the candidate will be responsible for the continuous enhancement of the Data Governance solutions, but also actively contribute for the build-out of a strategic Federated Data Quality technology solution, as well as the integration of this solution with key data sources.

The candidate will have following focus areas:
• collaborate with data governance leads within the Asset Management Chief Data Office to gather data quality requirements and ensure their successful delivery through technology solutions
• manage the development of custom capabilities & workflows within the AM strategic Data Quality solutions, overseeing overall functional design, development, and testing
• enable complex integrations between Data Governance platforms and various data sources/ systems throughout the division, while actively contribute for the build-out of a strategic Federated Data Quality technology solution
• ensure security, scalability and business continuity of the data infrastructure

The position is within our Data Services stream closely collaborating with the part of Agile delivery units distributed across the globe. Our teams design, deliver and operate state-of-the-art governance systems that offer best-in-class services to the bank’s clients. We are genuine believers that diversity brings more varied experience, expertise, and working methods to improve the way we engineer and deliver solutions.

Your expertise

• 6+ years of diverse experience in designing and managing innovative solutions. Experience in the Financial / FinTech industry is a plus
• proven experience in Java
• strong focus in TDD and/or BDD
• experience in java/ j2ee, Spring and web service integration skills.
• experience with Cloud architecture and environments is required – Azure, GCP, AWS
• hands-on experience with web/application development (html, css, apis – rest, json)
• good experience with relational DBs like Postgres, Oracle SQL, MS SQL, or MySQL. Non-relational DB experience is a plus!
• knowledge in the Data Engineering space: distributed big data processing, data profiling, ETL / ELT workflows. Experience with Apache Spark or Databricks is recommended
• knowledge of data management standards and data governance practices
• proven experience in agile development methodology
• Python is a plus
• experience with ML/ AI is a plus
