We are looking for someone who can support the Investment Bank's Global Banking department in:
• driving front-to-back controls, including reviewing and addressing gaps in the control framework in close collaboration with Legal, Compliance & Operational Risk Control, Group Internal Audit and the IB COO Global Banking team regionally and globally
• assist the ANZ Global Banking business to develop and execute its strategic initiatives
• manage key Global Banking transaction approval processes
• ensure policies are adhered to, reviewed and challenged accordingly in conjunction with the relevant stakeholders
• help drive profitability through revenue enablement and identification of cost/efficiency opportunities

Your team
You will be working in the IB COO Global Banking business management team in Sydney supporting the Global Banking business in Australia and New Zealand with focus on the public capital markets business. UBS has been the #1 investment bank in this market over an extended period. The team supports the day-to-day running of the business and oversees and monitors the delivery of the front-to-back control environment, regulatory and audit affairs, operating efficiencies as well as financial performance.
Operating in a small team you must be a highly motivated team player and be willing to muck in to help out where required. Focus of the team is one of continuous improvement so the successful individual must be a self-starter who is able to look for areas for improvement in their day-to-day role and initiate change whilst working in close partnership with the business.
Your expertise
• Experience in a similar role is advantageous, otherwise a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a control function such as finance or compliance is preferred, but not essential
• You must be detail oriented with strong problem-solving and numerical skills
• You will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and the confidence to deal with people at all levels of the organization
• You have a flexible work attitude, which is critical in order to adapt to changing priorities, whilst remaining calm under pressure
• You are incredibly organised, with an innate sense of how to prioritize when handling multiple competing priorities simultaneously
