As Business Manager within the UGM COO team, you will act as a strategic partner to UGM Brazil business and UGM global leadership across product verticals and distribution channels. You will be responsible for driving operational excellence, enabling business strategy execution, and managing front-to-back processes across the UGM franchise.
This role sits within the IB GM COO construct supporting the Unified Global Markets Distribution and Execution business, with a focus on Brazil coverage. You will collaborate closely with senior stakeholders across UGM and GM as well as Risk, Finance, Legal, C&ORC and Technology, and contribute to the execution of strategic initiatives including integration programs, regulatory deliverables, and business transformation.
Strategic Execution & Business Enablement
• Act as a strategic partner to senior leaders across Sales, and Product verticals to implement the UGM business strategy.
• Translate strategic UGM objectives into actionable plans and ensure alignment across Execution and Distribution locally
• Support the development and execution of the business plan, including investment optimization and product strategy oversight
Front-to-Back Operating Oversight
• Maintain oversight of the full operating environment from origination to execution, ensuring seamless coordination across Distribution and Execution
• Monitor the timely and cost-effective implementation of new business initiatives, infrastructure upgrades, and cross-functional programs
• Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks, ensuring scalable and resilient processes across the franchise.
Governance, Risk & Regulatory Engagement
• Oversee adherence to IB-GMW Collaboration Agreement mandate locally and the UGM operating model
• Oversee the implementation of risk controls and governance frameworks across product and distribution channels.
• Maintain an independent role in the oversight of operational risks, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations
• Support audit readiness and regulatory deliverables, acting as a liaison between the business and control functions.
Business Intelligence & Performance Monitoring
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting tools to track business performance, risk metrics, and operational KPIs.
• Provide senior management with insights and recommendations based on data-driven analysis.
• Oversee local revenue sharing agreements in collaboration with CFO, business and local tax
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
• Serve as the primary interface between the UGM business and support functions including Finance, Risk, Compliance, and Technology representing business in the discussions
• Facilitate effective communication and alignment across regions and functions.
Change Management & Program Delivery
• Lead and manage cross-business and cross-functional change programs, including remediation efforts and infrastructure transformation
• Partner with Corporate Centre teams to deliver front-to-back management, controls, and supervision frameworks.
• Ensure that change initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with regulatory and strategic priorities.

The UGM COO distribution team is a highly strategic and cross-functional team that is responsible for the formulation, implementation and support of the key WM- aligned Distribution focused initiatives, and processes that impact our client’s experience. This is a diverse role spanning across Execution Sales as well as parts of Digital Platforms, covering elements of strategy, analytics, budgeting, performance monitoring, regulatory impact, F2B controls, market structure issues, tech implementation/digitization, and comprehensive understanding of the sales and client business. Members of the team will have broad exposure across the Unified Global Markets business often collaborating and partnering with sales teams, management, support teams, and controls to execute a wide array of initiatives.

Your expertise

• min. 5 years relevant industry experience (Sales, Business Mgmt, COO, and/or consulting experience)
• understanding of Sales workflows, WM business and risk management, and regulatory frameworks.
• excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• experience with audit, regulatory engagement, and operational risk frameworks.
• ability to work independently and influence local and global senior stakeholders
• partnership approach with a high degree of collaboration across COO team globally
• understanding of bank/financial services operational processes and product knowledge as big asset
• ability to identify, articulate and escalate issues / risks to your line manager timely
• mandatory fluency in English and Portuguese
