Your role
Do you have a genuine interest in the financial markets and know/want to learn how to identify potentially suspicious activities such as market manipulation? We’re looking for an FX/PM Market Conduct Surveillance Analyst for the Global Market Conduct Surveillance Execution team based in Wroclaw to:
• investigate cases of potential market abuse (market manipulation) across automated alerting systems (e.g. NASDAQ Trade Surveillance). These investigations will be for Forex and Precious Metals for the Investment Banking Division;
• ad hoc deep dive reviews of activity, which include reviews in response to regulator/exchange queries, using internal systems and external resources;
• drive continuous improvement of the surveillance framework including input to regular design and operational effectiveness evaluations and the refinement and recalibration of controls;
• contribute to the implementation of strategic department projects including global and regional initiatives;
• participate in implementation activities including testing and integration;
• assist in the production of effective management information reports for Senior Management

Your team
You'll be working in the Market Conduct Surveillance Execution Team in Wroclaw, reporting into Switzerland, specializing in Market Conduct. We are responsible for identifying, escalating and reporting instances of potential market abuse using automated and manual surveillance solutions (e.g. NASDAQ Trade Surveillance). We collaborate with many internal and external parties such as Business, Business Risk Management, the Regulatory Investigations Group as well as surveillance vendors and IT to enhance monitoring and expand into new products and asset classes. We also keep up to date with relevant regulatory requirements such as MiFID II, MAR, FINMA rules and financial markets news which influence surveillance activity and development.
The team collaborates with the business, various compliance teams, regulators, surveillance vendors, etc. to ensure that post trade surveillance activities are robust and up to date with relevant regulatory requirements, market trends and events.
Your expertise
• University degree in Finance, Economics, Law, or a related field;
• 3 years of previous work experience in banking/financial institution including relevant compliance/control environment experience in Investment Banking;
• Experience of Market Abuse Trade Surveillance using surveillance solutions, ideally SMARTS (NASDAQ Trade Surveillance) /ACTIMIZE and/or experience of first line controls/framework reviews around market abuse;
• Sound understanding of the regulatory environment relating to market abuse and the current issues / challenges faced;
• Genuine interest in financial markets and market abuse regulation;
• Strong analytical and communication skills;
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel;
• Willingness to learn and develop expertise in market conduct surveillance and regulatory requirements;
