Your role

Do you want to design and develop scalable, high-performance backend systems that power critical business operations? We’re looking for a Java Software Engineer to:

• design, develop, implement, test and deploy java software components, in-line with agreed business requirements
• work independently and be able to communicate with both business and tech stakeholders
• challenge issues, call out risks in existing processes and systems in a positive manner, and propose improved solutions
• develop, test, automate, release and maintain java web/backend applications using Java and Spring Boot, Kafka & Azure.
• collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement new features.
• write clean, efficient, and well-documented code that meets industry standards and best practices.
• troubleshoot and debug issues in existing applications and provide timely resolutions.
• participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
• stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in software development, and apply them to improve the quality and performance of applications.

You’ll be working in the 1Place Pod, part of the IB Digital Operations Stream, based in Hyderabad. Our team focuses on delivering innovative and reliable backend solutions that enhance operational efficiency and client satisfaction. As a Java Software Engineer, you’ll play a key role in building and maintaining the systems that drive our business forward.

Your expertise

Your expertise

• • 13+ proven experience as a software engineer or technical lead, with a focus on backend systems and enterprise-grade solutions.
• strong programming skills in Java and experience with Spring Boot.
• expertise in API development (RESTful APIs, GraphQL, OpenAPI/Swagger) and database integration (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
• hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions) and containerization/orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
• familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly Azure, and monitoring/logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Splunk).
• strong understanding of security and authentication mechanisms (OAuth2, JWT, Spring Security).
• demonstrated ability to lead and mentor technical teams, fostering growth and collaboration.
• bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
