We’re looking for a Business Risk Specialist to:

• assess margin requirements and perform risk analysis on client portfolios across Prime Brokerage, Exchange Traded Derivative (ETD), FX Prime Brokerage, and Derivatives.
• identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks by proactively formulating holistic solutions and providing transparent risk reporting and analysis to management, regulators, and internal stakeholders.
• support senior risk managers to cover complex clients (Hedge Funds, Asset Managers, and Financial Institutions) while honing their own client coverage skills via interacting with clients on all stages of the service life cycle.
• work in cooperation with Global Markets Financing (GMF) sales / Senior Relationship Management, Account Managers, Collateral Managers and Credit Officers to deliver optimal risk reward outcomes.
• participate in regional and global risk projects to enhance our risk assessment and monitoring, including close collaboration with our Risk Quants to build out our analytics platform.
• help the franchise optimize scarce resources allocation to clients (Balance Sheet, RWA, Capital).
• participate and represent the APAC Risk team in regional and global risk calls.

Your team

You’ll be working in the Global Markets Financing (GMF) business in Hong Kong. GMF works with hedge funds, asset managers and other financial institutions to provide them a full suite of trading and financing products via the UBS Prime Brokerage platform. We maintain ongoing client contact from a risk management perspective to uphold and expand our wallet share.

Your expertise

• degree in Finance, Economics or Engineering or related field or technical study: engineering, math, physics, or accounting.
• ideally up to 5 years of experience working in a Risk or Markets based role within the finance sector.
• fundamental knowledge of financial markets, buy side interactions via Prime Brokerage platforms, and portfolio risk analysis across various asset classes (equities, FX, fixed income/rates, linear and non-linear derivatives).
• strong communications skills, both oral & written.
• adaptable to changing market situations, technology and business needs (you’re smart and flexible)
• technical coding skills such as Python, VBA, SQL, R, etc and / or Quantitative Modelling experience.
• fluency in English and ideally Mandarin as the role will support the Greater China region.
