Your role

We are seeking a strategic and talented candidate to join the AI Regulatory Engagement area, as part of the AI Governance and Regulatory Engagement team within the Chief AI Office. The team will play a key role in ensuring that UBS deploy AI in a safe, compliant and trusted manner, setting policies, standards and taxonomies in strong partnership with Group Compliance, Model Risk and Legal.

To successfully deliver the AI Regulatory Engagement responsibilities within Hub, you will bring deep subject matter mastery, exceptional judgement and the ability to drive trust, clarity and rigor across a highly complex global environment.

Main responsibilities will include:

• representing the group during the regulatory engagement on AI governance topics
• responsible for preparing and coordinating interactions with Audit and Regulators
• oversee the regulatory commitment, ensure timely delivery and meeting regulatory expectation, partner with COOs, Technology Heads
• implement the efficient and effective regulatory engagement strategy
• ensure the regulatory expectations are met by the Governance framework and standards

We define the firmwide AI strategy, standards, and shared capabilities, and work hand‑in‑hand with AI teams embedded in the businesses and group functions to turn ideas into real outcomes. From innovation and adoption to governance and scale, we help ensure AI is used responsibly, consistently, and with impact across the firm.

Your expertise

To successfully manage the AI key initiative and operationalize the AI governance within AI Governance Oversight area, you will bring deep subject matter mastery, exceptional judgement and the ability to drive trust, clarity and rigor across a highly complex global environment.

Specifically, you bring:
• expert-level understanding of AI governance frameworks, policies, standards and taxonomies, including experience shaping firmwide guardrails, oversight mechanisms and accountability structures in large organizations
• strong familiarity with regulatory expectations for AI and model-driven systems, ideally including exposure to global regulatory bodies (e.g., FINMA, FINRA, FCA, OCC, EU AI Act) and a demonstrated ability to translate evolving requirements into actionable enterprise controls
• proven track record of partnering with Compliance, Legal, Model Risk and NFR functions, navigating cross functional considerations and securing alignment on policies, scope boundaries, escalation paths and assurance mechanisms
• experience representing an organization in regulatory, audit or risk review interactions, providing clear, concise and well evidenced responses, while maintaining credibility and confidence with external stakeholders
• strong familiarity with the UBS Group AI Policy, including prohibitions (“No Fly Zones”), key principles (fairness, transparency, safety), oversight bodies, and control function review processes
• strong understanding of AI solution lifecycles and associated risks, including fairness, explainability, data governance, robustness, monitoring, security and model risk—allowing you to set meaningful, enforceable standards
• outstanding communication, collaboration and influence skills, capable of simplifying complex regulatory or technical concepts for senior executives, delivery teams and spokes, ensuring governance requirements are understood and embedded
• leadership experience building and managing high performing teams, with strengths in policy design, regulatory engagement, risk assessment, process governance and high quality decision support
