Your role
Are you knowledgeable of hedge fund strategies, able to spot market trends and have a passion for investing? Are you looking for an environment with a combination of technical in-depth research work and high-profile relationship management?
We’re looking for a Research Analyst to:
• source and evaluate hedge funds across strategies with a focus on global macro, fixed income relative value, commodities and systematic macro/CTAs
• identify risk and opportunities across funds and themes, top down and bottom up and carry out day-to-day investment monitoring
• manage important fund relationships with a focus on monthly qualitative and quantitative monitoring
• support the strategy/regional Heads manager and market analysis, gathering data, and preparing commentaries as part of our investment process and/or client requests
• use other skills and innovative thinking to drive fund analytics and process improvements.

Your team
You’ll be working in the London team of UBS Unified Global Alternatives (Hedge Funds team), the premiere hedge fund intermediary business within UBS Global Asset Management. Our team is responsible for identifying well researched, original and actionable investment ideas across markets. You’ll play an important role in sourcing, screening, researching, structuring and monitoring investment opportunities. The position provides the right candidate with the ability to grow within an established and successful team.

Your expertise
• investment industry / financial markets experience and familiarity with hedge funds and investment funds
• macroeconomic / financial market knowledge, ability to analyse inputs from multiple/complex data sources on a qualitative and quantitative basis
• strong analytical, mathematical and English writing skills
• strong attention to detail and ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all seniority levels of professionals internally and externally
• bachelor’s degree preferably with a focus on Finance, Business or Economics or some financial qualification such as IMC / CFA / CAIA
• independent thinker, intellectually curios and sense of ideas’ ownership.
