Your role

The Global Wealth Management Banking Americas group offers products and services to UBS Financial advisors and clients to help them meet their financial needs and goals. The products and offerings include loans to High New Worth (HNW) and Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) clients of the firm. The Credit Risk Manager role is part of the team’s 1st line of defense support.

• Lead Mumbai Lending team to support onshore team in managing a portfolio of loans to HNW and UHNW clients consisting of various collateral types including but not limited to Marketable Securities, Private Equity, Hedge Funds, LP interests, and Unsecured
• Assist in preparing high quality credit presentations within defined periodic review due dates that accurately summarize the loan purpose, terms and conditions, sources of repayment, risks, credit strengths and weaknesses
• apply financial principles, theories, concepts, and techniques to analyze information and loan collateral in accordance with policies, procedures, and industry practice
• keep current on major developments and changes in market and client financial condition to identify and escalate potential negative trends that could lead to the deterioration of credit quality and internal ratings
• maintain and update borrower’s loan data in internal systems and trackers
• participate in the development and ongoing updates to process and procedure documents

Your expertise

• university undergraduate degree
• ideally 7+ years of experience in a lending in a regulated environment (preferably within the Private Banking space)
• strong understanding of the HNW/UHNW business or ability to learn quickly
• demonstrated strong risk and program management skills with the ability to demonstrate a control mind-set
• proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products
• ability to deliver quality results against fast-paced project deliverable deadlines
• experience writing credit presentations, policies, procedures, and responses to audit/regulatory inquiries
• ability to work very well with others as the role requires close coordination with all product, operations, sales, legal, compliance, and support units, as well as external vendors and affiliates
• excellent written and oral communication skills; strong organizational skills
• detail oriented and careful about quality of work
• expert problem-solver
• ability to produce professional-looking presentations and reports
