Your role

Do you have in depth knowledge and expertise in hedge funds and private markets investing? Are you passionate about investment risk, analytics, and governance across alternative investments? Do you enjoy working at the intersection of investment teams, senior leadership, and control functions?

We are looking for someone like you to establish and lead the Risk & Analytics function for our Unified Global Alternatives (UGA) division. In this role, you will provide a cross vertical, UGA wide view of investment risk, while supporting strong bottom up risk ownership within each investment vertical.

You will:

• oversee investment risks across underlying funds, portfolios, and co investments, with a focus on identifying outsized, concentrated, or correlated risks
• aggregate risk insights across verticals to identify cross UGA risk themes, including manager concentration, exposure overlap, and systemic risks
• track adherence to investment risk guidelines, establish alert mechanisms, and ensure structured escalation of breaches or emerging risks
• lead the preparation of UGA wide risk reporting, dashboards, and exposure summaries for senior management
• present, challenge, and escalate material risks at the UGA Investment Risk Forum, ensuring clear documentation and follow up of agreed actions
• act as the primary 1st Line of Defense counterpart to UBS Asset Management Risk Control (2nd Line of Defense), ensuring effective challenge and triangulation of risk assessments

UBS's Unified Global Alternatives (UGA) business actively manages investments of around USD 344 billion globally and regionally within Asia Pacific, Europe and the US, making it one of the largest asset managers in alternative investment solution providers worldwide. Our capabilities reach across the risk/return spectrum, ranging from core to value-add and opportunistic strategies in real assets, private markets as well as hedge funds.

Your expertise

• ideally 15+ years in investment risk management, portfolio analytics, or a related role in alternatives
