Your role

Are you passionate about building and delivering robust and scalable IT solutions? Are you experienced in building brand new and maintaining existing software products?
Are you confident at iteratively refining user requirements and removing any ambiguity?

We are looking for a Software Engineer to:

• design and develop new and maintain existing software products using modern technologies and agile methodologies
• have a proactive and solution driven attitude to help deliver time sensitive project deliveries
• apply modern software development practices to ensure consistent state-of-the-art design and implementation of the software product
• ensure the delivery of high-quality, secure, scalable, and robust software products that seamlessly integrate into the enterprise-wide ecosystem and access channels.
• analyze business requirements, design and implement solutions, and develop software components to incrementally enhance the product
• support the product in resolving high-priority defects and deploying fixes to production systems
• closely collaborate within an agile team and a global agile organization

In our agile operating model, teams—known as crews—are organized around major products and services within broader Streams, each designed to meet specific client needs. Our Stream, "Save, Protect, and Grow My Investments," reimagines investing for the digital age and connects clients with a wide range of investment opportunities.

You’ll join the Advisory crew, which delivers essential solutions to support UBS’s global Advisory businesses. Our work includes providing instrument data, performing health checks and calculations, optimizing portfolios, and developing innovative Advisory tools. As part of our development team, you will help design, build, and continuously enhance the Global Risk Analytics & Calculation Engine (GRACE) for Advisory portfolios

Your expertise

• minimum 5+ years hands-on application development experience using Java and Spring preferably in the finance sector
• Bachelor’s/master’s degree or equivalent with a focus in software engineering
• Proficient in Java 25 and Spring Boot 3.5 for backend development, including REST API and batch processing
• Experience with Angular 20 for modern frontend applications is a plus
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and deploying applications on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
• Familiarity with Azure PostgreSQL and relational database management
• Understanding of GitLab CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and API security best practices
• you are curious to explore how AI can improve how we build, deliver, and optimize workflows. You do this with sound judgment – validating outputs and aligning with policies, risk standards, and ethical use.
