Your role

• Are you intellectually curious, analytically strong and keen to build a career in equity research?
• We are looking for a high-calibre Analyst to join our Greater China Banks team. In this role, you will support senior analysts in delivering differentiated, high-quality research and develop the core skillset to become a sector specialist.
• This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with strong potential and a genuine interest in financial markets, even without prior full-time experience.
• Financial analysis and valuation support
Assist in building and maintaining financial models covering Greater China banks, including analysis of earnings, balance sheets, capital adequacy and asset quality
• Research production
Contribute to the preparation of earnings notes, sector updates and thematic research, ensuring clear and insightful communication of key investment views
• Market and industry monitoring
Track macroeconomic developments, regulatory changes and sector-specific trends; synthesize information into concise insights for the team and clients
• Investment idea development
Support the identification and evaluation of investment opportunities through data analysis, peer comparison and independent research
• Team collaboration
Work closely with senior analysts and sales teams to support client engagement, presentations and internal discussions

Your team

You will be part of the Greater China Financials research team based in Hong Kong, focused on delivering rigorous, research-driven insights and generating high-conviction investment ideas across the region.
The team adopts a disciplined, bottom-up approach supported by deep local expertise to provide actionable recommendations to global institutional clients.

You will gain:
• A structured entry into equity research within a leading global platform
• Direct exposure to one of the most important banking sectors globally
• Hands-on experience in financial modelling, valuation and client communication
• A clear development path towards becoming a lead equity research analyst

Your expertise

• Bachelor’s degree (or above) in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related discipline
• 1 - 10 years of experience in finance or research is beneficial, but not required
• Strong numerical ability with a solid foundation in accounting and financial statement analysis (or demonstrated ability to learn quickly)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, or the ability to develop advanced modelling skills in a short period of time
• Clear and structured written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas in a concise manner
• Fluency in English is required; Fluency in Mandarin preferred
• You’re curious to explore how AI can improve how we build, deliver, and optimize workflows. You do this with sound judgment – validating outputs and aligning with policies, risk standards, and ethical use
