Your role
Do you enjoy turning complex finance and operational data into practical forecasts?
Are you confident building analytics solutions across SAP and cloud data platforms?
We're looking for a Software Engineer to:
• design and deliver forecasting capabilities for finance and operational use cases, including driver-based planning, time series forecasting and scenario analysis
• build reusable analytics solutions across SAP S/4HANA, SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP Business Data Cloud, Databricks and Microsoft Azure
• develop data pipelines and analytical models using Python, PySpark and SQL, with clear controls for quality, reconciliation and lineage
• combine SAP actuals, master data, business drivers and external signals to create forecasts that are transparent, scalable and actionable

Your team
You'll be working in our Finance Technology team, helping finance and business teams make better planning decisions through trusted data, forecasting models and decision simulations. Our work connects SAP and non-SAP data with cloud analytics capabilities, so colleagues can understand forecast drivers, compare scenarios and act with confidence. As part of this team, you'll play an important role in making forecasting solutions easier to reuse, monitor and improve across planning domains.
Your expertise
• you’re curious to explore how AI can improve how we build, deliver, and optimize workflows. You do this with sound judgment – validating outputs and aligning with policies, risk standards, and ethical use
• experience in analytics, forecasting, enterprise planning, data engineering or applied machine learning, ideally within a finance or enterprise technology environment
• hands on experience with SAP S/4HANA data and processes, especially actuals, master data and business drivers used in planning and analytics
• practical knowledge of SAP Analytics Cloud, including planning models, versions, data actions, dashboards, stories and scenario analysis
• experience with SAP Business Data Cloud or comparable SAP data and analytics capabilities, including semantic modelling and data integration
• strong Python, PySpark and SQL skills, with the ability to build maintainable data preparation, feature engineering and analytical workflows
• experience using Databricks on Microsoft Azure, including notebooks, jobs or workflows, Spark, Delta based processing, MLflow or similar deployment practices
• understanding of forecasting concepts such as driver-based planning, rolling forecasts, model validation, back testing and forecast accuracy, clear communication skills, with the ability to explain model assumptions, behaviour, limitations and outcomes to technical and non-technical audiences
Useful additional experience
It would be an advantage if you also have:
• experience with probabilistic forecasting, hierarchical forecasting, causal methods, optimisation or Monte Carlo simulation
• knowledge of model governance, data lineage, observability, continuous integration and continuous delivery, or infrastructure automation
• familiarity with SAP Datasphere, SAP HANA Cloud, SAP Fiori, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure DevOps or Power BI
• experience developing reusable forecasting products or self-service capabilities for multiple business units, markets or planning domains
