Key responsibilities

As the Head of ETF and Index Fund Client Coverage, Northern Europe, you will be responsible for leading the strategic development and management of the ETF and Index Fund business within the region. Positioned within one of the key growth areas of the company, you will play a critical role in driving the growth and success of their ETF offerings, overseeing all relevant aspects of product development, distribution, marketing, and operations. This position requires a combination of strategic vision, market insight, collaborative mindset, strong leadership abilities, and out-of-the-box thinking to position the UBS ETF and Index Fund business for long-term success in a competitive landscape. This position will be based at UBS Asset Management's office in London and will report to the global Head of ETF and Index Funds Client Coverage, Amanda Rebello. This is a key leadership role that will involve managing a team across London, Amsterdam, and Stockholm. You will:
• develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for the ETF and Index Fund business for the region, aligned with the overall goals and objectives of the firm.
• provide leadership and direction to the ETF and Index Fund team regionally, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture, and developing talent within the organisation.
• lead efforts to expand distribution channels and increase market penetration for UBS’s ETFs and Index Funds in Northern Europe through effective marketing initiatives, digital engagement, partnerships, and client interaction to increase sales growth, generate revenues and UBS’s position in the market.
• build and maintain strong relationships with wealth management, institutional and wholesale clients, financial advisors, and other key stakeholders to understand their needs and preferences, and to effectively position UBS’s ETF and Index Fund solutions.
• collaborate with internal colleagues regionally and globally including portfolio management, capital markets, marketing, and product development and support the efforts of the generalist wholesale and institutional client coverage teams.
• identify opportunities for new ETF and Index Fund products and develop enhancements to existing offerings, working closely with the investment, research, and product development teams.
• ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to ETFs and Index Funds, staying abreast of industry developments and implementing necessary changes to maintain compliance.
• monitor and analyse the investment performance and sales results of ETF and Index Fund products, tracking key metrics and performance drivers to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
• represent the firm in industry forums, conferences, and other events to enhance UBS’s visibility and reputation within the indexing marketplace.

Your skills and experience

• proven track record of success in product development, distribution, and management of ETFs and other investment products in the UK, Benelux, and Nordics markets
• deep understanding of the ETF and indexing marketplace, including industry trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory environment.
• strong and proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve exceptional results.
• strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans and initiatives.
• excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• experience of working in an international environment with a demonstrated collaborative approach to working alongside other internal sales teams.
• highly organised professional with a commitment to excellence and improvement.
• University graduate or University of Applied Sciences degree in Business Administration, Finance or Economics (or similar) required, other advanced degrees (MBA), certificates or diplomas (CFA) would be an advantage.
• excellent written and spoken English, additional foreign languages a plus
• curious to explore how AI can improve how we build, deliver, and optimize workflows. You do this with sound judgment – validating outputs and aligning with policies, risk standards, and ethical use.
