AI Software Engineer
Ulteig
The Opportunity
The Digital Transformation Artificial Intelligence (AI) Software Engineer is a technical position responsible for evolving Ulteig’s AI and Automation Practice, which lives within Digital Transformation. Ulteig defines digital transformation as the deliberate use of digital technologies to modify or create business processes, customer experiences, and enable organizational culture in response to or anticipation of changes in the market, customer insights, and business needs. This role focuses on enablement—translating business problems into actionable AI approaches (including agentic workflows) and coaching teams as they deliver solutions using approved tools. This role partners closely with the AI Program Manager to help business teams apply AI to their operations and workflows safely, effectively, and at scale.
Reporting to the Software Engineering team within Digital Transformation, this technical position will need to blend technical experience with an ability to enable talent across the enterprise. This position, in partnership with a dedicated AI Program Manager, will carry the challenge of standardizing, training, and reporting the impact of AI. Key deliverables include the creation and delivery of AI-focused solutions, articulating and demonstrating patterns and emerging technologies within the industry, and developing AI standards across the enterprise.
What You’ll Do
Technical Guidance & Hands-on Development
- Stay ahead of emerging AI technologies and trends that impact our industry.
- Develop targeted prototypes to validate feasibility and accelerate delivery, while establishing streamlined evaluation frameworks—spanning acceptance criteria, test sets, humanreview mechanisms, and ongoing quality, cost, and risk oversight—before transitioning scalable ownership to delivery teams.
- Build limited prototypes or reference implementations to prove feasibility, demonstrate patterns, or unblock teams—then transition ownership to delivery teams where appropriate.
- Contribute to coding efforts, building and deploying AI-driven solutions using languages and technologies such as C#, Python, RAG, LLM, MCP, Agents, and fine-tuning.
- Ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with enterprise standards.
Agentic workflows & copilots (design + guidance)
- Guide teams in designing agentic workflows and copilots using tools such as Copilot, Claude, or ChatGPT ecosystems.
- Provide patterns for tool-use, orchestration, and safe autonomy (permissions, approvals, auditability), including when and how to use MCP, RAG and integration with overall AI technologies.
Business Enablement & Advisory
- Design and deliver engaging training programs, workshops, and hackathons to build AI expertise across the enterprise.
- Serve as a trusted advisor and mentor, helping teams adopt AI best practices.
- Create playbooks and internal documentation that translate AI capabilities into practical “how to apply this to your workflow” guidance.
What We Expect from You
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience designing, building, and delivering enterprise-grade software solutions.

- Ability to architect scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions aligned with enterprise standards.
Collaboration & Communication
- Ability to translate technical concepts into business language and present recommendations to non-technical audiences.
