Proposal Supervisor - Renewables

The Opportunity
Ulteig is seeking qualified candidates for a Proposal Supervisor – Renewables within Enterprise Operational Services (EOS). This role leads the Renewable Proposal Team within the Proposal Department and operates as both a people leader and a hands-on proposal developer, responsible for delivering high-quality proposals across a high-volume, deadline-driven environment. This position reports to the Proposal Manager and partners closely with Technical and Field Services, Sales, and Project Management to align resources, prioritize opportunities, and maintain consistent proposal standards.
This position oversees proposal execution from kickoff through submission for large and/or complex pursuits while actively managing team workload, priorities, and performance. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, can manage competing priorities with tight turnaround times and demonstrates strengths in people leadership, communication, resource management, and continuous improvement, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines while coaching the team, improving tools and templates, and elevating proposal quality.
What You’ll Do
Leadership & Supervisory Responsibilities (50%):
- Lead, coach, and manage team members to achieve individual, team, and department goals; mentor and develop staff for professional growth.
- Identify and facilitate training and development opportunities; support hiring, onboarding, performance reviews, and goal setting.
- Facilitate proposal team meetings.
- Maintain the proposal queue and manage team resource assignments to support proposal demands and quality expectations.
- Evaluate incoming/unassigned proposal requests to validate scopes of work are complete and aligned with the information received by the client, and proactively coordinate with Sales to resolve gaps and support any RFI clarification needs.
- Manage proposal queue delivery and schedule adherence while proactively communicating with key stakeholders.
- Lead the Renewable Scrum meetings to discuss proposal execution strategies, risk tolerance, SME resourcing issues, and, as needed, provide input to the Go/No-Go evaluation of specific opportunities.
- Oversee content for proposal communication platforms (e.g., Uconnect, Viva Engage) and ensure consistency across processes, templates, and corporate standards.
- Participate in the Renewable market and BidComm meetings to represent the Renewables Proposal Team and provide relevant updates
- Provide presentations to other teams and support the onboarding of new Market Leaders or Client Team Leads regarding proposal processes, tools, and expectations.
- Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives, including development of new processes, tools, and databases for team and company use.
- Assist with maintaining team budgets.
- All other duties as assigned.
Proposal Responsibilities (50%):
- Lead the proposal process by managing timelines, assigning stakeholder responsibilities, and creating and maintaining the proposal development plan (PDP).
- Analyze RFPs; facilitate kickoff meetings; gather proposal information; and coordinate submissions in alignment with proposal writing standards (e.g., Shipley color reviews).
- Lead development of the draft response document and draft estimate; collaborate with pursuit teams to ensure accurate, complete inputs.
- Manage subcontractor proposal elements, as needed, and collaborate with technical, sales, and field services teams to gather input.
- Refine proposal scope to address client needs and create clear, compelling responses.
- Maintain and improve proposal templates and standards aligned with industry best practices; organize and maintain proposal databases, forms, and related resources.
- Manage multiple opportunities concurrently, as needed.
What We Expect from You
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Communications, Technology, or a related field (Associate’s degree considered).
- Minimum 7 years of experience in the Renewable and/or Power industries, including at least 5 years of experience developing proposals or similar documentation.
- Proven experience in identifying technical scopes of work and developing effective proposals.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with staff, management, and external stakeholders.
- Client-focused mindset and strong business acumen in project management, proposals, or engineering.
- Self-motivated, energetic, with strong written and verbal communication skills and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively across diverse teams, influence others, and manage ambiguity.
- Problem-solving skills and a results-oriented approach.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Microsoft Teams.
- Excellent organizational skills and strong follow-through.
- Comfortable working through ambiguity to clarify priorities and determine a path forward.
- Demonstrates openness to innovation by embracing and applying evolving technology and AI tools to enhance workflows, solve problems, and drive continuous improvement.
- Must have authorization to work permanently in the U.S.

Additional Opportunity Details:
Target Base Compensation Range for this role is $111,200 - $150,400
* Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your job specific skills, education, training, job location, number of years of experience related to this role and comparison to other employees already in this role.
