Technical Operations/Maintenance

Technical Operations includes the maintenance, and overhaul of our aircraft. This includes aircraft maintenance technicians, engineers, planners, ground equipment and facilities teams, supply chain teams and more.

Job overview and responsibilities

Provide oversight of a multifunctional team with work scopes covering technical data management. This role would manage day-to-day activities, project assignments and effectively utilize available resources in support of the organization's responsibilities and strategic initiatives. The position must have knowledge of technical document authoring systems and processes, delivery and access processes for technical data. This position will play a key role in facilitating coordination between several Engineering teams to ensure the team meet department objectives.

• Works within Matrix Organization and will supervise a team of 7+ Technical Writers and Analysts, including coordinating scope of responsibilities, managing workload and ownership amongst team members, and defining and tracking team metrics.
• Conduct performance reviews with a focus on career development
• Act as interface with US and India teams to develop coordinated technical data strategies and its implementation.
• Ensures compliance to department SOPs and GMM
• Drive review of processes for identification of areas of optimization to increase the number of manual revisions accomplished and documents published per month

Qualifications

Required:

• At least 8 years of related experience with at least 2 years of leading a dynamic team.
• 6+ Years of technical aviation experience in document management or technical writing.
• Knowledge of XML authoring, publishing, data delivery, CADD and archiving data.
• Should be able to interact well with senior management and operational employees
• Strong communication skills (both written and oral) with strong organizational skills
• Must be legally authorized to work in India for any employer without sponsorship
• Must be fluent in English (written and spoken)
• Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
• Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

Preferred:

• Master’s degree in engineering and/or MBA.
• Experience with management of manual authoring, data delivery/access management
• Knowledge of Boeing Toolbox and/or Airbus World applications.
• Experience with management of data frames or big data handling capabilities.
