Job overview and responsibilities

The Senior Analyst will be a key player in the design of safety data and business intelligence. This position involves building and deploying data products, which include optimizing workflows, assessing safety systems, validating data, and creating dashboards for United leadership. Additionally, this role will assist divisional stakeholders in identifying safety hazards and opportunities for both reactive and proactive monitoring through comprehensive data analysis and actionable insights.

• Serves as a focal point and subject matter expert for quality and maintenance of Safety programs to ensure system availability and usability is maintained.

• Evaluate internal systems for efficiency, problems, and inaccuracies, and develop and maintain protocols for handling, processing, and cleaning data.

• Develop data visualizations and automated reports in Palantir/Foundry, and Power BI using predictive analytics tools

• Compile weekly and monthly reports, project support, process analysis, and continuous improvement

• Responsible for ensuring data integrity of Safety programs for various reporting data streams and levels within the organization, from front-line users to senior management.

• Regularly performs and provides analysis, insights, and empirical storytelling of Safety programs data for use in broader risk assessments and CASS (Continuous Analysis and Surveillance System) Reviews.

• Collaborates with other Safety team members on ad hoc projects or Safety program requests.

• Communicates and trains users as needed on new feature availability.

Qualifications

Required

• Software / Technical project management

• 5+ Years of relevant work experience

• Software languages (Python, SQL, HTML/CSS)

• Business Intelligence and Data Analytics applications (Data Bricks)

• Experience with Power BI, Palantir

• Microsoft Office product suite

• Proven superior verbal and written communication, technical writing, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Organization and discipline to perform in a deadline-based environment while remaining adaptable to changing priorities.

• Bachelor’s degree in software development or equivalent

• 3-4 years working with complex data (data analytics, information science, data visualization or other relevant quantitative field)

• Aviation industry and terminology experience

• Occupational Safety and Quality Assurance exposure.
