Procurement

The Global Procurement organization at United Airlines is responsible for procuring goods and services and developing/managing relationships with third-party providers with the objective of reducing total cost and risk to the company while improving levels of quality, service, and technology.

Job Overview and Responsibilities

The primary responsibility for a Senior Buyer in the Global Procurement team is the direct tactical procurement of aircraft and engine spare parts inventory that the Technical Operations team has identified and requires. This role will work directly with key supply and distribution personnel and source material from external suppliers who supply these parts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in sourcing Aircraft and engines components across ATAs and material types such as Expendables, Rotables, Recoverables, Repairables

• Support in negotiating prices and conditions to arrange for the delivery of parts

• Collaborate with United stakeholders to define and drive sourcing strategies

• Participates in developing purchasing strategies that reduce United's costs and Ensure compliance with all financial controls, including SOX compliance

• Prepares requests for quotes, evaluates bids, awards purchase orders, and maintains comprehensive and detailed records of certifications from the supply market

• Work closely with inventory planning to understand their forecasting strategies

Qualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

• Bachelor's degree in a related field such as business, finance, accounting or supply management
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in procurement of aircraft spares and components with experience across ATAs and material types
• Familiarity and experience in sourcing expendable, recoverable, rotable, repairable parts
• Experience in sourcing, supplier negotiation, supply chain management
• Experience in working with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
• Must be legally authorized to work in India for any employer without sponsorship
• Must be fluent in English (written and spoken)
• Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
• Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
