Job overview and responsibilities
The Technical Operations Reliability team ensures United operates safely and dependably by analyzing aircraft defects, delays, and operational disruptions. We identify emerging trends, quantify reliability risks, and partner with Maintenance and Engineering teams to drive corrective actions.
As an Associate Analyst, you will transform raw operational data into actionable insights that directly impact fleet performance and decision-making.
Key responsibilities include:
Analyze aircraft defects and operational interruptions to identify trends, root causes, and emerging reliability risks.
Perform accurate ATA coding and classify system failures, components, and conditions.
Support fleet reliability meetings with data-driven insights and reporting.
Conduct deep-dive analyses (drill-downs) on recurring issues and chronic items.
Support regulatory reporting and operational requirements; role scope may evolve to include weekend coverage based on operational needs.
Partner with cross-functional teams (Maintenance, Engineering, Planning) to support reliability initiatives and ad-hoc analyses.
This position is offered on local terms and conditions. Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Aircraft Maintenance, Engineering, or a related field.
1-2 years of experience in aviation Technical Operations or a similar environment.
Strong understanding of aircraft systems and maintenance operations.
High attention to detail and data accuracy.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work with incomplete or ambiguous operational data.
Must be legally authorized to work in India without sponsorship.
Fluent in English (written and spoken).
Reliable and punctual attendance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with airline reliability programs and fleet health monitoring.
Experience working with large operational datasets.
Working knowledge of SQL and/or data analysis tools.
Experience with data visualization or reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
