Key Responsibilities

The Manager– Engine Maintenance (Mx) Strategy & Systems is responsible to deliver routine engine maintenance planning publications, including (but not limited to), removal forecasts, maintenance plans, and material plans. They will also provide robust and accurate data systems to enable business insights and reporting. Responsibility includes the development of the engine and APU removal methodology to improve accuracy as much as practical. This includes responsibility for all data, systems, and algorithms to produce the forecast. They partner with a cross-functional team within engine supplier management, inventory planning, global procurement, finance, digital technology, and engineering to deliver and execute the plan. Additionally, they will work with the Sr. Manager to develop strategic engine maintenance plans and systems. Ability to travel up to 20%.

  • Lead the methodology for the engine and APU removal forecast model used for engine maintenance planning, EBU forecasting, supplier forecasts, and other use cases.
  • Develop and coordinate solutions/algorithms/systems to automate, collect/store, audit data for accuracy, and create business insights.
  • Create and deliver engine maintenance reports and apply rigorous statistical analysis that will be presented to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Perform ad-hoc data analysis and modeling of engine programs to support end users such as Network planning, Fleet, Global Procurement, Finance, and Engine Maintenance.
  • Lead the project management of the engine procurement cycle by reporting on current and future engine part inventory.
  • Lead the development of an engine parts forecast model for short-term (6 to 18 months) and long-term (> 18 months) use cases that is applicable to multiple fleets and difference specifications.
  • Manage direct reports and provide professional development to the team.

Qualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant work experience in Engineering/Reliability, Supply Chain, Business, Data Analytics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science
  • 5+ years’ experience in the aviation and/or aerospace industry
  • 3+ years’ of experience in an analytics and/or quantitative role with demonstrated experience building and maintaining complex analytical models
  • 5+ years’ of engineering / business / supply chain work experience
  • Ability to review data, formulate a model, draw conclusions, and use data-based analysis to inform others
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team
  • Strong organizational and continuous improvement skills
  • Demonstrated ability to understand technical information
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in-writing to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to manage complex workload to effectively accomplish assignments with limited supervision
  • Skilled in computer programming languages such as (but not limited to) python, pyspark, java script, HTML, SQL, R, and/or VBA
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Master's degree in MS Engineering, MBA, MS Data Analytics
  • Lean Process Improvement (e.g. Six Sigma Green Belt)
  • Project management experience by leading teams through indirect influence
  • Experience with direct reports
  • Experience using statistical analysis tools for forecasting parts or events.
  • Process improvement experience
  • 3+ years’ experience in aircraft or engine maintenance management.
  • Strong aviation and/or engine business acumen.
  • Detailed understanding of jet engine components
  • Knowledge of engine maintenance planning/overhaul events.
  • Proficiency in Palantir/Foundary
  • Analytics using structured and unstructured data, including statistical inference, parametric and non-parametric predictive models, machine learning, natural language processing

The base pay range for this role is $102,220.00 to $133,194.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
