Our Technical Operations team is full of aircraft maintenance technicians, engineers, planners, ground equipment and facilities professionals, and supply chain teams that help make sure they’re well taken care of and ready to get our customers to their desired destinations. Job overview and responsibilities


Ensure that our External Maintenance Providers (EMP’s) and Outside Vendors (OSV) meet or exceed United’s Standards for Safety & Regulatory Compliance. Responsible for physically visiting their sites, examing maintenance activity on our aircrafts, identifying risks, performing GAP analysis and implementing mitigation strategies to protect United’s fleet.

  • Site visits on a periodic basis to United’s External Maintenance Providers and Outside Vendors to ensure Aircraft Maintenance Activity performed meets or exceeds United’s Safety and Compliance standards in accordance United’s GMM and associated manuals
  • Investigate and lead resolution of significant safety & regulatory non-compliance events, systemic hazard identifications, Corrective Action / Preventive Action Plans and change management assessments at assigned Vendor/EMP locations
  • Ensure effective SOLOGIC Root Cause analysis, risk mitigation, and recurrence prevention activities for incidents that have occurred or have the potential of a Safety related hazard occurring on United’s fleet
  • Search Aircraft Maintenance manuals, understand task cards, translate and verify Engineering documents, to ensure accuracy in jobs being performed at the EMP/Vendor locations
  • Reviews OSHA programs preventing violations, and advises locations on following all procedures
  • Reviews SAT, LOSA, TSAP, and NASA programs and learns how it integrates into SMS at various locations
  • Coordinates SIA (Supplier Interface Agreements) and ensures alignment with United’s interests

Qualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
  • Aircraft Maintenance, Aviation field
  • A & P license

  • SOLOGIC or RCA trained
  • 5 years experience as a technician in a Base or Line environment within the Aviation industry
  • Thorough understanding of FAA 14CFR as it relates to Aircraft Maintenance
  • Proven superior interpersonal skills, writing skills, critical thinking, and leadership skills; Highest standard of ethics and integrity to compliance adherence
  • High collaboration, teaming, and employee engagement skills
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Associate degree
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant License; Familarity with the SMS program
  • OSHA10-30 certification
  • Occupational Aviation Safety or equivalent


The base pay range for this role is $81,795.00 to $106,602.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
