Job overview and responsibilities
The Associate Analyst - Supply Chain Analytics, will support reporting and analysis for the United Airlines Supply Chain organization including inventory planning, vendor management, components and engines shops, warehousing, and logistics functions. Projects can include the development of dashboards, periodical and ad-hoc reports, and presentation decks.In addition, the successful candidate will own a portfolio of existing dashboards, reports and presentation decks being used the Supply Chain teams.
- Extract data from a variety of sources to assist in building operational dashboards and reports
- Automate existing manual reports and processes to improve operational throughput
- Performs ad-hoc data mining and analysis as required
- Create content to visualize and communicate Supply Chain performance metrics interacting with other Supply Chain analytics teams.
This position is offered on local terms and conditions. Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded. This position is for United Airlines Business Services Pvt. Ltd - a wholly owned subsidiary of United Airlines Inc.
Qualifications
What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as math, statistics, operations research, finance or engineering required
- Specialization in Data Analytics, i.e. Data Visualization, Databases management, applied statistics
- 0-2 years of experience in an analytics role
- Familiarity with using database querying tools, such as SQL
- Ability to learn what a business team does, then design a data/technology solution that connects business processes with quantifiable outcomes
- Experience using MS-Office tools, i.e. MS-Excel, MS-Powerpoint, MS-Word
- Fundamentals of statistical methods
- Skills in critical thinking and asking detailed questions
- Organized, self-motivated and comfortable executing toward project plans under time constraints
- Must be legally authorized to work in India for any employer without sponsorship
- Must be fluent in English (written and spoken)
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
- Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications)
- Experience in operations research, engineering or related field involving solving complex business problems preferred
- Experience developing dashboards and executive reports
- Programming experience in a scripting language such as Python
- Previous experience using Palantir Foundry
- Data visualization skills using one or more reporting tools (i.e. Power BI, Spotfire, Tableau, etc.) to produce meaningful, elegant dashboards
