Description

This highly analytical role provides strategic and quantitative support to United's Worldwide Sales organization and Commercial leadership team. The team leverages data, technology, and advanced analytics to optimize business-to-business commercial programs, drive revenue growth, and inform key business decisions.

As a Sales Strategy & Pricing Intern, you will work with large datasets to uncover insights, evaluate program performance, and develop analytical tools that help shape United's sales strategy. Projects may include analyzing corporate and agency booking behavior, ticketing and revenue trends, pricing effectiveness, market opportunities, and customer performance metrics. Interns will have the opportunity to build dashboards, automate reporting processes, and support the development of data-driven recommendations presented to senior leadership.

This role offers a unique opportunity to combine business strategy, analytics, and technology while gaining exposure to how one of the world's largest airlines manages its commercial partnerships. You will collaborate cross-functionally with teams including Revenue Management, Marketing, Loyalty, Network Planning, Financial Planning & Analysis, and Digital Technology to solve complex business challenges using data.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Finance, or a related field
  • Graduating Winter 2027 or Spring 2028
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and identify actionable insights
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written, verbal, and technical communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to synthesize data and present recommendations to business stakeholders

    Preferred

  • Experience working with data analysis, statistical modeling, or business intelligence tools
  • Exposure to programming languages such as Python, SQL, R, or Java
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms
  • Coursework or project experience in analytics, machine learning, forecasting, optimization, economics, or operations research
  • Demonstrated experience leading or contributing to data-driven projects, research, competitions, or case studies
  • Experience presenting technical or analytical findings to business audiences
  • Interest in commercial strategy, pricing, revenue optimization, or the travel and transportation industry
  • Demonstrated understanding of the capabilities and limitations of generative AI tools and the ability to leverage AI effectively to support research, analysis, content creation, and problem-solving. Applies critical thinking to validate AI-generated outputs while adhering to organizational policies related to responsible AI use, data privacy, and security.


The starting rate for this role is $20.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education and skills. This position may also be eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
